She's fine. She took off again to her old house (it's only about a 1/4 mile down the road so I think that is the problem!). One of our mutual friends who's been going over there and feeding her went and got her again, and took away all the food there and moved it over here. She's broken out of...
Do you think he might be sick instead of it being a behavior problem?? What you described is really bizarre and I don't know of any cats who go to those extremes unless they have something physically wrong and they're trying to tell you.
I dunno...I'm no cat expert but it just seems weird that...
Oh yes...she's spayed, has all her vaccines, flea treatments etc. I think she may have gotten out last night. There was a slightly open window upstairs and she may have jumped the 20 ft to the lawn. I'll have to run down to her old place today to see if she's there.
I'm fostering a friend's cat until she finds her a new home. My friend lost her house to flooding and her 2 cats have been living out on the porch the past couple of months. One of them got adopted but the other didn't. She is very very sweet and cuddly. You can put her in your car without a cat...
Siku. My best friend.
I don't have pictures right now because my last computer crashed and most of my pictures went with it. My brother is a computer tech and says he can get the pics off my old computer and put them on a CD for me.
Siku is a Samoyed mix, but you'd never know it because he is...
So much for rumors!...lol heheh
I couldn't remember who was Molly or Emma. I LOVE Emma!! She's a sweetie and I think Charlie knows it. He's right on her good side isn't he?
My Siku is the one keeping the little gray kittie warm in his tail. My Siku is an old mother hen when it comes to his...
...and that's absolutely fine. It's commendable you're trying to do a good work. I just wish you would not attempt to make a person feel like she has a personal responsiblity to fork over $15 a piece for every stray that comes into her yard.
I think you are wrong. The best method is education. In my area we have very little problem of feral cats. Not non-existent but very small. Most people I know who have cats, even if they are poor and always complaining about money, have their cats neutered, spayed and given routine...
That's all fine and well, except you are asking people to pull $15 out of their own wallets every time a stray cat comes across their path. It is unfair to lay that upon an innocent person and perhaps cause them to feel guilty enough so they go behind on their bills or not feed their children...
I think Charlie has already found his forever home .... God bless you!! (of course I knew the very first post you wrote you were gonna keep him )
My favorite pic is the one where Charlie and Molly?(the black one) are hamming it up with each other, mouths wide open. Those are 2 dogs that...
I live in a rural area. SPCA refuses to respond to stray cat reports and will not take strays into their shelters. No vet that I know of within 100 miles would neuter or spay a cat, stray or not, for under his going price. Even if there were such services, I would not pay to have strays spayed...
Oh, he just started playing tonight for the first time too. Last night he started doing the rolling on his back and stretching out thing when you pat him. Tonight he started playing a little with the fringe on my afghan while he was laying next to me on the couch.
I started doing that thing...
It's a risky business for sure! My old girl has been exposed to other cats nearly her whole life though. We live in a rural area and she's outside most of the time, either killing mice or chasing off other cats from her territory.
She's a riot..one quarter Maine Coon, double pawed front and...
He'll be at the vets this week or next. I've rescued a lot of kittens and cats in my lifetime and they always went to the vets, got their shots, got neutered or spayed. I rescued many a wee one, 3, 4, 5 weeks old from under barns and out of neighbors' houses where the mom got hit by a car. I...
He's reeeeaallllly happy right now! He's under my bed hiding out but when I get down on the floor to coax him out he purrs very loudly and crawls out a little ways to get patted.
Can't get to the store right now because of the ice storm so we've been spoiling him a bit with cans of tuna (along...
My old girl, "Big Kitty" is very very unhappy.
I don't know why I did this but I just decided that I would like to have another cat. At first, I said it must be a kitten but when a neighbor said they had a young cat living under their porch and trying to come in their home to eat, I decided to...
