    Update: Vet said excessive scratching & licking could be anxiety but most likely auto-immune disorder. He gave him a steriod shot (milky-white substance) & checked him for worms (neg).     Sandy, thx so much for your prompt reply. He hasn't been scratching; all behaviour is normal - well, for him. The city ceased setting traps in the sewers so we're having a rodent infestation in this urban area with a lot of construction. I panicked (we love him so) but he's healing up nicely...
