    I can't control him!!!

I agree with the above poster. Henri is much the same. She gets "fixated" on things. Usually cords, the phone antenna, necklaces.. anything that catches her eye that she can fit in her mouth. Once she locks onto something as a prey object, NOTHING can deter her. Now, as soon as she goes for...

Are your cats "Anti Cat Tree"??

Sam is much too big for the tree my mom bought for them, but Henri didn't take to it for a couple of weeks. I think it takes awhile for their own scent to sink in, and then they decide it belongs to them. Poor Sam. I need to get a big one just for him.

    Vodka for Urine?

it might work. the acidity of the alcohol might counteract the ammonia in cat pee, which is very basic. It would neutralize. but still, waste of liquor and you'd probably be better off buying something designed for the job.

    Not a problem, just curious.

oh no worries about the cords. I have a very complicated nighttime routine that involves unplugging/hiding things so that Henri can't get to them. They are also covered with bitter apple which deters her sometimes, but not all the time. I just have to watch her, and she has only destroyed one...

they should. Henri loves to chew on plastic. I keep bringing home different kinds of rubber dog toys that might fit in her mouth, but nothing compares to my glasses and the vacuum cord.

    Not a problem, just curious.

A couple times a week when I go to feed Sam and Henri I find something of mine in their bowl. Usually its a ponytail holder or a sock. Once it was my glasses. I'm not sure who does it, but I am just wondering if it is indicative of anything? I have a feeling they are trying to "hide" it from...

    Needy behavior at night.

When I first got Samuel, he would sit outside my bedroom door at night and yowl for awhile. Then he would lose interest and go play. I eventually got him a friend (Henri) and he was no longer lonely at night. We have since moved to a new apartment, and everything was fine until a couple weeks...

    Claw chewing.

Hello! Haven't been around for some time. I recently noticed that a couple of Henri's front claws are rough and splitting. She has two places for her to scratch (and I'm sure she will use the couch when I'm not around) and I trim her nails as regularly as she will let me. Today I noticed...

    Henri got out.

WHEW thank you for all the prayers. She did come back this morning without a scratch. Just trotted right up to the front door. I think she spent the night in the garage and was afraid to come out because it was storming. I need to remind my family to be suuuuuper careful about closing doors.

    Henri got out.

She is deaf and is suspected not to have any sense of smell. its raining and I don't know how long she has been out, or how I can find her in the dark and rain. any help or prayers would be appreciated.. she has no suspicions about ANYTHING at all and could easily be hurt.

    A couple of Samuel pictures.

Sammy found himself a window. Here he is showing off his marvelous physique (we're on a diet) This is Chloe, my dad's cat. She and Sam are just now starting to get along.

Bonding? Or about to have it out?

Samuel has had a very hard time adjusting to life in my parents house, partially because its so big and partially because my dad's cat, Chloe, doesn't like him. In the past couple of days, I will find the two of them in some sort of tense standoff, usually about 3 feet apart. They are lying...

    interspecies miscommunication= booboo for Solomon

nope, she just cleaned it out with saline. it was pretty amazing though. I could see the scratch on the surface of his eye. Today its isn't even red and he's no longer rubbing at it. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

    interspecies miscommunication= booboo for Solomon

I got a look at it, he's a little better. He can open the eye and its not very red anymore. However, its a pretty significant scratch, so I think we'll take him in. Poor guy.

    interspecies miscommunication= booboo for Solomon

My mom's Corgi Solomon (Solly) met my two kitties yesterday, and he was not well received. He honestly just wants to make friends, but I think Samuel swiped him in the eye. Now he's walking around holding his eye closed and rubbing at it every now and then. He won't let me open it up to see...

    Change of plans. (Sedation again.)

update: everyone made it safe without being too upset. Sammy is a little wary of the new place, but all in all the trip was harder for me than it was for them.

    Change of plans. (Sedation again.)

I'm not going to either. Today is the day! I hope they won't be toooo mad at me, but at least its a short flight.
