I currently have a foster kitten who is 4 months old, has cataracts, and may have either of the above. He's already had some tests done, and will need more. His glucose levels are off the charts, his liver levels are also high.
Has anyone had a kitten with these type of symptoms? I'm working...
Call your local humane society. They should have a vet who works with feral cats. You're right, you can't keep him a trap much longer than tommorow morning. It that fails, try to keep him confined in one room of your house, with a litter box, food, and an open crate.
Once you find a vet to...
The Virgin Islands are similar to Puerto Rico in the handling of feral cats. Taking her to the humane society is a death sentence. Since she is coming inside and gets along with the other cat, close the door to the crate when she's in there, and get her to the vet. He can spay her, give her a...
Being honest - keep the bedroom door closed. My dogs sleep on the bed, the cats are not allowed in the bedroom at night. My abby makes us insane - he purrs, washes out heads, and meows. They have the whole rest of the house - so they have no complaints.
Check with your vet, there is also something you can put on her coat to cut down on the allergens. If you plan to let her out, please consider microchipping her first. This way if for some reason she gets picked up, she will be returned to you.
Good Luck!
Not sure if you have Freecycle where you are, but I was able to get a HUGE dog house for free from someone. It wouldn't fit in our SUV, so they even got a friend to deliver it! I have it LOADED with hay, and I closed the entrance some so that a coyote can't fit in it. The cats can go way...
I've had up to 7 cats, 2 dogs, 9 guinea pigs, 3 prairie dogs, 2 mice, frogs and a hamster.
We had a pretty big house, and the cats had their own room. It depends on you, and the cats. As long as they all get along, you can afford the vet bills, and they all get attention - you should be fine...
Please get this little one checked by the vet asap. If illness is ruled out, there could also be a possiblilty that the cat has mental problems. Not common but it happens. The vet can give you some meds to calm the kitty down some.
I had a friend who adopted a cat with mental problems. He...
My abby is a heat freak. He sleeps in the kitchen window in full sun in 95 degree weather. In the winter there are heat vents in front of it, and he's up there again.
He also cuddles into the dog at night.
Try giving her special treats when she first sees you. Ham, Cheese, or Cream Cheese on your finger. It sounds like you're making great progress as it is. She will just need a little more time to trust humans.
It's so much fun watching a feral come out of it's shell and trust!

When you move to the new home, keep the cats in one room for the first week. Slowly let them acclimate to the new house. Sometimes they do great right away, other times they don't.
Best of luck with the move!

Barking dogs can be annoying. My old neighbors dogs drove us nuts - they had 4 and they barked and barked. Including all night. I did call Animal Control and complain, and although he knew who I was - he just told them he got a complaint. No names. I liked the neighbor - the husband was a...
Hi everyone! I'm owned by 4 Indoor Cats, 5 Feral Cats, 2 Satos (street dogs from Puerto Rico), 3 prairie dogs, 2 richardson ground squirrels, 1 bunny, 1 hamster and 5 guinea pigs.
I've done a lot of rescuing, and fostering of cats, kittens and other furry creatures. Including a possum we...
