Max is back to his old self. He is feeling much better and has been chasing Jake & eating without the assistance of his appetite stimulant. Looks like he's almost 100% back to his old self.
Took Max to the vet & he has a URI most likely brought on by the addition of Jake. Max was given lots of fluids & his blood work was done. He is taking an appetite stimulant to help get him to eat as well as what I call "Cat vitamins".
The vet gave him one of the appetite stimulants before we...
We have a 1 yr old cat named Max & two weeks ago we decided to bring home a companion for him (Jake). They have gotten used to one another and are doing well in terms or socialization. Over the last few days I noticed that Max (1yr old) has not been as interested in food as usual & has been...
We own a Litter Robot too. The Litter Robot is a great automated litter box. Since we switched to the Litter Robot we have virtually no litter box odor. That being said, we also switched out kitty from canned/dry food to a completely raw diet so that switch has something to do with the reduced...
Our kitten (Max) was a bit gassy when he was on a canned/dry diet. Now that we feed him raw his gas is completely gone. We have also noticed there is virtually no odor when he defecates. He also has a very shiny coat and his fur is very soft. His smelly breath has also gone away.
We took our kitten (Max) to his new vet (Feline only) last night. Our vet told us that he is a pound heavier than normal but he's not fat. We may just have a kitten that will be a bigger cat. We just want to be sure that he is as healthy as possible. The last thing we want is for him to become...
We have a 20 week old male kitten who weighs in at 6lbs. Does this seem like a normal weight for a kitten his age? We're new cat owners so we don't really know where our kitten should be weight wise at this point in his life.
I found a very good link that shows you how to calculate exactly what is in the food you are feeding your cat. I don't know if this link has been posted before but I thought all of you would find it interesting. The formula works on both canned & dry food. Hopefully this will help others decide...
I found the following link in another post on this forum. It has some good information that may help you decide how much to feed your cat.

Hope that helps...
We are currently feeding our 5 month old kitten wet Innova twice a day & 1/4 cup of EVO free choice. When our kitten doesn't finish his helping of wet food I place it in a container in the fridge to be used at his next feeding. Should I heat up the wet food when I take it out of the fridge or is...
I have tried most of the automatic litter boxes that are available and none of them seemed to work very well. That is until I got a Litter Robot. The Litter Robot is by far the best automatic litter box out there today. It really does work & it works very well in my opinion. The problem with...
I have a Litter Robot and it's working well so far. My 5 month old kitten has been able to use it right away without any trouble. The price is a little steep but it does make life easier. All in all I would buy another one if I had to. Remember, the primary purpose of a self cleaning litter box...
I spoke to our Vet today & she was not opposed to a raw diet for our kitten. Her concern was that we be extremely diligent in our handling of the raw food in order to protect ourselves from any salmonella problems that could arise. Our vet was also concerned that a household with small children...
I have noticed that my 4 1/2 month old kitten (about 5 lbs) has taken a real liking to canned food & I have a few questions.
1) Is there a proper procedure for feeding him canned food?
2) Should I feed him canned once in the morning & canned once at night with kibble available to him...
