    Thank you, Mary Anne

Hissy, I haven't been a member that long; however, I am also a bit shocked and I'm still going to miss your informative and caring posts on the board. Good luck with your projects (present and future) and I truly wish only the best for you.

    Yet another spaying question

Psy, I agree with catdvm...policies are different at each clinic. I don't believe either way is necessarily right (or wrong)...it's just different and depends on what individual clinics feel comfortable doing. Anyway, most of our animals are brought in the morning of their surgery. However...

    Survivor 12

Yeah it's great having them all, but I'm running out of space. lol I actually started taping season one half way through (I have the full season on DVD) for my dad and I loved the show so much, I just started collecting them. When they released The Australian Outback and All-Stars DVDs, I...

    Post-op Neuter care

If it's only been a day since their surgeries + last bms and everything else is normal, I wouldn't worry too much at this point. They were fasted and probably don't have a lot of food in their stomachs. However, if anything else arises OR if they still haven't had a bm by tomorrow morning, I...

    Post-op Neuter care

You're welcome! I tried taking the collar off of Sienna to give her a break when I was there; however, she just wouldn't leave her incision alone. So, she had to wear it 24/7 except during feeding times where I sat with her and prevented her from licking the area between bites of food. Don't...

    Post-op Neuter care

Most cats that are spayed or neutered don't need to wear e-collars after surgery. However, there are a few who lick excessively (Sienna was one of those) and it's essential they wear one. She didn't start to lick a lot until about 2 days after her surgery and I had to get one from work right...

    Going to the vet..EVERYONE!

I'm glad to hear everything went well!

    Post-op Neuter care

We tell owners of cats who need e-collars to keep them on until they come back for their recheck appointment which is usually 10-14 days after surgery.

POLL-Which do you prefer to feed your cat?

Lionessrampant and Jcat, thank you for your replies! We have tired putting various pieces of meat in her wet food to try and coax her...but she generally doesn't like "people food" (not even fish), so needless to say, that didn't work. However, I am definitely going to give the freeze dried...

POLL-Which do you prefer to feed your cat?

Jcat, When we first got Kiaira, she was eating both wet and dry. Upon discussing it with a vet years ago, we were told dry was better for them. So Kiaira was switched to dry only and when we got Tori she was put on a dry diet as well. Once I started working at my current clinic a couple...

POLL-Which do you prefer to feed your cat?

Sienna gets both wet and dry, although she prefers eating dry more unfortunately. We tried adding wet food into Tori's diet; however, she just refuses to eat it. We thought we were making progress when we got her to pick at one brand of food from our clinic...but her minimal interest only...

    My precious Shirley died today

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your precious cat Shirley! I agree. Crazycatnipper, sadly a mistake was made and I know this won't ease your pain, but you couldn't have possibly known that was going to happen. It probably won't help at all now, but know your intentions for doing the...

    After you cat died.

Kiaira was cremated privately and her ashes were returned to me in an urn. A lot of people I have told think it's odd, but I feel it's a very personal choice with no right or wrong decision so long as it's done respectfully. In my situation, I couldn't bare to have her cremated and laid to...

This is hard for me to bring up but,,,,,,,

Tom W, How devastating!! I can't even imagine how awful that must have been for both of you. I don't think the pain you're still experiencing is unreasonable at all. Our cats are family, and it's completely heart wrenching when one of them is taken from us and that heartache can last...
