What large cat tree/tower to get for older cats?

Here's an 8-foot tower: http://playtimeworkshop.com/catmountain.htm I can't tell how they would access the upper levels though, without having to climb up the outside.  And it isn't the most attractive thing I've seen...

What large cat tree/tower to get for older cats?

This is a good idea, but those shelves are too small, and they're charging too much.  $100 for a shelf?   I'd prefer to make my own.  But I'm not sure our cats will use shelves, and I'm reluctant to drill into the walls without some assurance that they will.

What large cat tree/tower to get for older cats?

That looks great, but yeah, I'd like something taller.  Does such a thing exist? We're thinking about putting cat walks around the perimeter at 8.5 feet or so.  Ideally the tower would be tall enough to get them up there.

What large cat tree/tower to get for older cats?

We're looking for a large cat tree/tower for two older cats.  We have 10-foot ceilings, and would like to take advantage of them.  But our cats are 15+ years old, so they don't do a lot of jumping up.  It should be easy to climb to the top. Also, something that looks fairly nice, because it's...

    Bengals are such characters

I'd recommend something more like a cross-trainer or bicycle; those wheels are really made more for animals.

    Raccoons coming in cat door

We don't have a roof over it, just walls. The cats aren't great climbers; but the raccoons are. Does anyone know when mating season starts here in the SF Bay Area? I understand they don't really search out food as much during that period.

    Raccoons coming in cat door

^^^ Fortunately, the cats know enough to stay away from them, which is kind of surprising given that the male is extremely territorial. The first couple times it happened, we could tell the coons had come in downstairs because the cats would be hiding upstairs in bed with us!

    Raccoons coming in cat door

We're lucky enough to have an enclosed back yard from which the cats cannot escape. They love going out the cat door and hanging out in the yard at all hours. This was a fine setup, at least up until recently when: Raccoons started coming in through the cat door at night! They come in, raid...

Beautiful cat in Austin needs rescue! Hurry!!

OK, keep me posted. I've done the reward thing before, and unfortunately people are quite likely to send you a random cat... Not that it would be so bad to help save a random cat, but I don't have the means to deal with ferals or other ill-tempered kittles unfortunately. (I already have...

Beautiful cat in Austin needs rescue! Hurry!!

Once again, he was hanging around in the neighborhood of Suite 301. Go into the parking lot, take a left, go down to the end, and it's on the left. If he isn't there, check back a few days later. It's possible he hooked up with another couple of tenants for a few days, just like he did to us...

Beautiful cat in Austin needs rescue! Hurry!!

^^^ Not that I'm aware of. I'm just as curious to know what's going on. And still kicking myself for not having taken care of this myself when I was down there...

Beautiful cat in Austin needs rescue! Hurry!!

BTW, here's more details on the cat, in the hopes that he can be found: As I mentioned, he's very friendly, so you shouldn't have much trouble getting him to come to you if you can track him down. Try opening a can of tuna, he loved it! He had the most beautiful smoky grey coat. Not a...

Beautiful cat in Austin needs rescue! Hurry!!

Hey! I've been out of town for a couple days, but I got a call this morning from one of the posters above about the efforts here. So YES! If you guys can find the little grey declawed kitty, I'd love to take him! I'll be glad to pay for his airfare and any other costs that may arise. The...

Beautiful cat in Austin needs rescue! Hurry!!

I didn't bother with the managers of the hotel because it was clear they didn't care -- there were probably dozens of stray cats hanging around. For that matter, all of Austin is full of stray cats, as are many cities. The people I was visiting thought I was just being naive and childish to...

Beautiful cat in Austin needs rescue! Hurry!!

OK... thanks for your words of wisdom. I'm sure you know a great deal more about saving stray cats than I do. I guess I was just trying to do what I ascertained to be the right thing. Thanks for making me feel so much better about how I dealt with this dilemma. I'm quite sure I didn't...
