    My cat's reaction to bunny

Our 11 month old Mimi is very timid around strangers and strange environments, but very affectionate at home with us. About a week ago we brought her to visit our neighbor's bunny in the early evening. The bunny is bigger than Mimi. This was about the third time Mimi has visited the bunny...

Danger of suffocation under the blanket?

OK thanks everyone. Mimi's favorite spot seems to be right between my wife and I on a cold winter's night.

    Cats and pregnant human?

Here in China, some people believe that a woman should not live with a cat starting from two years before the woman is pregnant, until after the baby is past infancy. They believe cats have worms/parasites or something like that, that will adversely affect the baby. I don't really believe...

    Question about feeding

Here in China, besides Friskies and Whiskas, there is Royal Canin (made in Brazil) and IAMS (made in USA). Which would you recommend? Thanks.

    Question about feeding

I feed Mimi twice a day. She usually eats for about 5-10 minutes, then stops, and then about 20 minutes later, if food is still left, she will come back and eat more. (The second time, she eats about a third of what she ate the first time.) My question is, should I put away the leftovers...

Cat drives us crazy every morning!

I don't have a vacuum cleaner, but that sounds like a great idea.

Cat drives us crazy every morning!

Yes, she was spayed about a month ago. It almost killed her (long thread about it in the health section), but she fully recovered, thanks to the help I got from this forum.

Cat drives us crazy every morning!

Thanks for all the replies. Wow, I've been positively reinforcing her behavior! So starting tomorrow morning, I'll leave her outside and try REALLY hard to ignore her crying. She should win an Oscar or something, because her crying is SO pathetic-sounding! Actually, I think it's kind of nice...

Cat drives us crazy every morning!

We've tried leaving her outside the bedroom and closing the door, but then she sits right outside the door and cries and cries...

Cat drives us crazy every morning!

Our 8 month old female, Mimi, drives us crazy every morning. At around 6 am, she starts to walk on us, cry, touch her nose to our mouth/eyes/face, nibble our toes, etc. She's purring loudly during this time. Then I get up and feed her (I feed her twice a day), and this seems to make her leave...

    itchy ears/neck

Ever since we got her about 4 months ago, our Mimi has had itchy ears/neck. As suggested by our vet, we apply a few drops of "ear cleaner" in her ears every now and then (she hates it!). We also bathe her about once a week with pet shampoo, and we recently started spraying the house with...

    Help! cat spay complication...

Thanks for all the comments. Mimi is definitely back to her old self, including nibbling at my toes when I'm sleeping (But I don't mind!) Her appetite is back with a vengeance Her incision is dry. I'm looking foward to taking out those ugly-looking black threads. We got her a little...

    Help! cat spay complication...

She's behaving pretty much normally now: eating, drinking, playing, etc. Wonderful! I've arranged for a medical student friend to come over 7 days after the spay operation to remove her stitches. A while back, he removed the stitches from my neighbor's bunny when he was neutered, and it only...

    Help! cat spay complication...

She's finally drank some water on her own. I had to coax her to get her started. I noticed that she doesn't "nibble" my toes anymore when I'm in bed, which used to be one of her favorite hobbies. Not sure if that's because she's still weak, or if that's a permanent change due to spaying.

    Help! cat spay complication...

And just now, another handful. This morning she's eaten about her normal-sized breakfast, on her own. I'll feed her again twelve hours later. She hasn't drank any water this morning. Urinated in the middle of the night.

    Help! cat spay complication...

This morning, after some coaxing, Mimi ate a handful of dry cat food by herself! Pretty quickly, too. I hope this means she'll be ok. Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement!

    Help! cat spay complication...

I just weighed Mimi, suprisingly she hasn't lost much weight. Before the operation, she was about 2.5 kg, now she's about 2.4 kg. Right after the operation, the vet commented that she was very fat, with an "abnormally thick" layer of fat around her tummy. I think she's unriating about three...

    Help! cat spay complication...

The wound is not particularly warm. There's no discharge from the incision. I hadn't thought about your idea of trauma causing loss of appetite, but now it seems plausible to me: in general she's a very timid cat; she starts crying the moment I take her outside (in a cat carrier), and the...
