My poor Spicey has had UTIs. He was on Clavomax for a good month or so, maybe longer. I do not now and have not fed my cats wet food, always dry. Now I'm feeding prescription Science Diet that is low in magnesium and other nutrients that promote bladder problems. I'll probably have to feed...
I know how you feel about wanted more cats ... I'm in school away from home so I'm renting, it's hard enough finding a place that will let me have my two cats, so getting any more before I get a place of my own probably can't happen. Too bad though, volunterring at the animal shelter, I fall in...
My boyfriend of 4 years and I broke up about 6 months ago. We had planned to get married on September 25 then he told me that he wanted to join the military and we couldn't get married. I know what heartbreak feels like, if you need to talk, let me know ... I'd be glad to.
I want to say go for it, but at the same time, if you are doubting this particular cat, maybe you should wait ... nothing would be more awful than to bring him home, realize you made a mistake, then take him back to the shelter. Just an opinion, with my two cats, one came from the Humane...
Hi there. I have been so busy with my sick kitty lately. I've been posting in the health forum and have gotten lots of great feedback. I have a tortoise shell calico who will be turning 3 at the end of the month, named Sienna. She is the sickly one, hopefully everything turns out to be okay...
Also about ultrasound vs. exploratory ... the upside of exploratory is that if they make anything bleed while they're working on her, it's more easy to see and fix than it would be if using an ultrasound ... or at least that's what I understand. Boy, this is going to be/has been expensive!
Well, here's an update ...
Sienna and I went to the vet. They did an ultrasound to look at her liver and surrounding areas. Her liver looked abnormal. They gave her fluids and sent me home with some yummy canned food with syringes and told me to try to force feed her if she doesn't eat it on...
About the Booda Dome, I have one and really like it. They tell you that you have to use the special circular liners (that can be hard to find), but I just use normal ones and it works great. I drape a pretty hankerchief over it and you can hardly tell its a litterbox!
She will be three on Halloween. She has always been kindof a runt though ... a tiny cat but weighed 8 pounds (she was pretty chunky). When I took her to the vet a few days ago, she had lost half a pound. I can feel her spine and she's losing some of her fat. I've got to get her to eat, I'm...
That's interesting because my cat, who's a he, sort of does the same thing when I sneeze. He'll meow kinda weird, look at me, and run over, like he's making sure I'm okay. He doesn't lick plastic sacks but he does lick the speakers to my stereo -- strange.
My grey tabby, Spicey, is 3 years old and on occasion, without warning, he will do the strangest thing. I am always standing when he does this -- he'll come up to me, stand on his hind legs, wrap the front legs around my thigh and bite me. It's not a hard bite, more of a love bite. Also...
When she is feeling well, my tortoise-shell calico is very independent, hates to be held, and is almost bratty. From what I've learned this is pretty typical of all torties. Burmese cats are usually very friendly and loving.
Thanks for the feedback. You asked more questions than my vet did. I just noticed today that there was a tiny bit of nibbling on my Chinese Evergreen. I know these are minorly toxic but her condition is not improving. She usually doesn't chew on the houseplants. I will call the vet back...
My tortoise shell calico, Sienna, has not been eating her food and has been vomiting a yellow, foamy liquid. Do these symptoms sound familiar to any particular problem? The vet has done blood work and nothing seems to be wrong. She is also very hostile towards her "brother", Spicey. She...
