    E. coli infection in my cat!

My Isis is very cuddly and demanding (attention-wise), and my dad's Fritter is a surly old beeeyatch. I was talking elsewhere on the boards about how I found her in the bush as a feral kitten when I lived in the country. She has been a scrapper, and an ingrate ever since (she's 13 now)! :p

    E. coli infection in my cat!

Thanks for the well wishes! And yes, Arlyn's got it right. They are very mild-tempered reptiles, and very cute. Arlyn, your Vash looks almost exactly like my Isis, and your Shadow looks eerily like my dad's kitty Fritter! Weird!

    E. coli infection in my cat!

Thanks for the info. I get my water from the town water source. The vet didn't even mention this, so I assumed she believed that the water wouldn't have been the source. I have a Bearded Dragon, so am on those forums too to see if they can be carriers... Thanks for the well wishes!

    E. coli infection in my cat!

Has anyone had any experience with their cat having an E. coli infection?! I just brought my girl home from the vet yesterday, and the vet called today to say that she found a lot of E. coli in the urinalysis! She says that it is very rare in cats, and that she's not sure how she would have...

Riley fetches! Normal for a cat?

I sort of trained Monkey to fetch... He started it himself. It's with a toy that used to be a string with a cotton filled sparkly ball on either end, and each had a feather attached to it. It's his favourite toy, and the only one he actually plays with. At this point, it is now a piece of string...

    My cats have issues

D**n vet! I just got my kitty back from the vet today. There are two vets that have helped her at the clinic, and the last one was the one who recommended the dry food only. This vet was shocked that he had told me to feed them dry only... She has prescribed a weight formula wet food, and says...

OMG! he's driving me crazy please help

Giving cats turkey actually might work! Tryptophan (which is also what makes people sleepy after a big ol' turkey dinner) is a precursor to serotonin, which controls mood, sleep, etc. But, in order for tryptophan to work, it must be eaten with carbohydrates, as this is what helps the body...

    My cats have issues

Wierd, I've always heard that wet food is more fattening because it has more, well, fat in it... I feed my cats dry food only (on vet's orders, better for Isis' FLUTD, unless it flares up, then she's on prescription c/d wet for a while), and they are both normal weight, and quite muscular...

Need help with transition -- not sure whats going on

I would say that if the vet told you to keep them quarantined, follow that advice. No matter how stressful it is to keep them this way, the vet is obviously looking out for one or both of the cats' health, and you don't want to mess with that. Also, keeping them separated for a longer time will...

    Big Problem!!!

When you clean up under the couch, do you put the poop in the garbage? When I was litter training my kitten, I found the only thing that helped with the pooping on the floor, was to take the poop (in a scoop of course), and put it into the litter box. I locked her in the room with me when I did...

    Behavior of my exotic shorthair

I would think that locking her in the bathroom could have a lot to do with it. A bathroom is a very small space, and definitely NOT enough space for a cat. And the fact that she hides in closets could relate to that. Also, if the breeder you got her from was cruel (and especially male), that...

    Mounting Issue

Thanks for the additional two comments that appeared while I was writing my long-winded reply. I'm going to ask the vet about it tomorrow. Last time I brought her in I asked him about it, and he said she was trying to remove his scent, and that the pulling would stop. I told him that she was...

    Mounting Issue

Thanks for replying so quickly! They do get along fairly well otherwise. She is much older (5 years older), and is a bit of a cranky you-know-what, but she lets him know when she doesn't want to play. He seems to be trying to establish dominance (I have read that that is one reason why neutered...

    Mounting Issue

Hello, I'm new to the boards, and I'm hoping someone can help me with my problem. I have a two year old neutered male and a 7 year old spayed female. The female has been moved around a lot, introduced to multiple cats (one of whom was very aggressive, and led to the separation of the two cats)...
