My 4 cats that are on raw only poop once every two to three days, and they are mostly small, dry poops without much odor.

I found giving them a bit of food with gravy seems to coat their throat and gets them ready to swallow a pill. I also coat the pill in the gravy or butter.

I found putting the liquid into a pill and then quickly covering it in butter and pilling them works the best. It does sometimes take 3 or 4 pills.

I usually get rid of the guard, for these since I couldn't I just bent the guard a bit and turned it so it would fit tightly against one of the handles.

I just tried these, they cut much better then my other 3 scissor type clippers, and it was much easier to do because my cats didn't feel the cutting as much. On the negative side, these aren't the most comfortable and the grips come off too easily, I'll have to tape those on. Thanks for the tip
