Figured I would pop in to give you a quick update on Lexus. This morning her poop was greenish and watery, so I went ahead and contacted my foster coordinator and was told to bring in a stool sample for a fecal exam at the shelter.
This afternoon, Lexus' poo was still loose, but normal...
Lexus seems to be doing well except for stinky poop. I had thought this was probably due to switching foods, but someone on another board mentioned coccidia. Does anyone here have experience with this?? I will try to get a stool sample into the shelter vet tomorrow if possible, but I have...
Wow I never realized how little I knew about baby kittens (and how much I pay attention to what comes out of a little critter lol).
Lexus seems to have really stinky poo - I'm wondering if this is common in kittens or is due to her lower quality diet (the shelter feeds Purina Kitten Chow).
I...
So I've had my foster girl for about 3.5 hours and I'm kinda concerned that she isn't drinking like she should - she actually seemed a little scared of the water dish when I showed it to her and I haven't seen her drink. She's peed once already and seems spunky as can be.
At the shelter she...
So as I mentioned in my other thread: I am now the foster mom to a 4 week old female kitten from the local shelter. She's very loud and is black w/ little white hairs on her chest.
I'll see if I can get the picture thing down:
Now that you've all oohed and ahhed over the little girl...
I get to pick up my first foster kitten at 2pm today (It's almost 10am here)!! I am soooo excited - lol wish I could just skip my last two classes today, but I'll be a good college student and go .
I need name suggestions for the little one btw, so if anyone here can help there that would be...
I am an avid clicker trainer when it comes to dogs, but I've never really tried it with cats. I know there has been some success with it, but have any of you tried clicker training your cats/kittens? If so, what were your observations?
I will be picking up my first foster kitten next week and I thought I'd just pop in here and get some advice and suggestions. I will be fostering an underage kitten, most likely about 3 or 4 weeks old, so anything about raising the little ones is much appreciated since I don't have a ton of...
Hey all!
I'm kinda new, only a few posts under my belt, so I thought I'd do a proper intro.
I'm a 20 yo college student (major is animal science, behavior/wellbeing) who is usually more of a dog person than anything, but an animal lover in general.
As part of a class project, I have decided...
I looked at several cat litter threads and noticed that no one mentioned World's Best cat litter; has anyone used it?
I saw a bag at the healthfood store I frequent and it sounded interesting - a clumping litter made from corn and w/o dust. Supposedly a 7lb bag lasts one cat for one month...
I'm about to start a project for one of my classes and I thought I'd get some more info before I start.
Have any of you kept track of kittens that were bottle raised over their lifetime? Did they act different than normally raised kittens? If so, how?
TIA!
I have been hearing a lot about the proposed Pet Animal Welfare Statute recently as well as a huge variety of opinions, so I thought I'd start asking people a few questions to get a better idea of the opposition and support for the statute.
If you all would be willing to offer you take on this...
