Tips And Advice To Integrate/introduce A New Cat

Hi @nese, I've tried this once, and what happened was that Sumo just kept meowing at the door, and wanted to be let out. Yuki would walk around the house, but she would always end up going back to the other side of the door. She seems more interested in Sumo than exploring the rest of the...

Hello all! Sorry for the delay in reply! Thank you for the articles, they are very helpful and I am trying to follow the tips and advice in those articles. For now, I am keeping them separated. Some times, my resident cat expresses interest in the new cat, but it's not very often. He will sit...

Tips And Advice To Integrate/introduce A New Cat

Hi! A year ago, I adopted a street cat. He is about 6 years old, and quite large. One of his ears had been badly injured in a fight, but because of his overall size, I assumed he was a bad-ass, alpha male cat before we took him in. For awhile, he was the only cat in the household, and he loved...

    Bald Spots Around Ears

Hi @graceful-lily! I'll try to answer your questions in detail! 1. He eats 3 meals a day, wet food for breakfast and dinner and dry biscuits for lunch. In between, he gets smaller portions of biscuits. He is quite a greedy cat but not picky with his food. He eats all types of brands of wet and...

    Bald Spots Around Ears

Hi all, I recently adopted a semi-feral cat who has adjusted well to indoors living. He is about 5 - 7 years old according to the vet. One of his ears was injured badly and it is sort of mangled. The wounds of that injury has already healed but because the ear is sort of folded in, there's an...

Can an older male cat adjust to life indoors?

Apparently, Sumo will eat just about anything we put in his bowl. We put out a few bits of his dry biscuits and the tablet (whole) and he just ate the tablet along with the biscuits. 128514

    Deworming meds....how to give?

Thanks for the tip @Di and Bob! Turns out that my cat Sumo will eat just about anything. We put out some dry biscuits for him and dropped the tablet in between the biscuits and he gobbled everything up!

Can an older male cat adjust to life indoors?

Thank you for the chart @Orange&White! We don't leave dry food out for him @MsAimee because he tends to finish up whatever is in his bowl straight away, but if we feed him 3 meals a day, he doesn't usually beg/meow to be fed in between. In fact, when we had to fast him for his trip to the vet...

    Deworming meds....how to give?

Hello! I just adopted a cat that was a stray for a couple of years. The vet advised us to deworm him. We just got it neutered and got the deworming tablet from the vet to give to him tomorrow. We were told to give him the tablet as per @Epona's method described above. My question is, is it...

Can an older male cat adjust to life indoors?

Okay! Thanks for the tips, I will try and calculate/estimate his calories intake. For the moment, he only asks to be fed in the morning and evening. I think that when he was a stray, he must have settled into a routine with the community feeders. Whatever we put in front of him, he will pretty...
