    4.5 Month Kitten Getting Aggressive?

I recently fostered a litter of kittens and mom cat and had no problems until they went to their new homes. They were with mom and littermates until 4 months old and I started handling them from the day they were born (weighing and supplemental bottle feeds) and socializing them when they were...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

She does eat wet food but she only nibbles. The rest of her siblings scarf it down. She's about half as big as several of the larger litter mates and looks a good 2 weeks younger...

Kitten Food: How Important Is Quality And Wet Vs Dry?

Okay so in the past I fed my cats Iams dry their whole life, and they didn't have problems, but I've recently learned that's a pretty poor quality food and the general consensus is wet is way better. Now I'm fostering a litter of 7 kittens plus mom, and had been feeding them wellness and blue...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

No more diarrhea, but one of the kittens is dramatically smaller than the others and she's nibbling food and had a few licks of kmr, but not as much as any of the other kittens. She's really quite small comparatively, but running around playing acting pretty normal. I can't tell if she's just...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

At least 2 of my litter of 8 week old foster cats and mom have had some intermittent diarrhea for about a week, I assumed because they switched food abruptly a few times out of necessity over the past week or two. However a few days ago some sort of self limiting virus seemed to go through my...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

Thanks all! I gave momma the dewormer and she seems to be doing better. Rotating kittens is going well, and everyone gained at least 12g a day the past few days without supplementing, so it looks like everyone's back on track! And the kittens are officially 3 weeks old now!

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

@StefanZ, If she's gaining well again just with rotating, is supplementing worth the risk of choking? (I've bottle fed cats and given liquid meds by syringe before but never substantial syringe feedings) She's up another 3 grams (with only a 1ml syringe feed) so a total of 19g in under 24 hours...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

Yes, I'm fostering through a rescue but they are doing me a favor by accepting her (I usually foster dogs through them and found mom cat when she was pregnant and asked them if they could possibly help) so I was trying to avoid another vet trip if possible. The vet already had on file from her...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

She's not having issues with frequency, but I have noticed her stool is quite smelly and this one was semi soft (haven't really been able to tell others because she buries it in her clumping litter immediately after). I rotated today after seeing the one had lost weight, but momma gets really...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

Litter of 7. She was 287g, 293g now after I made sure she was nursing for a few hours. I tried bottle feeding her but she was really fighting so I just took the pushier kittens away and made sure she nursed for a while. She was formerly the biggest which is what has me worried that it's not just...

Help! 2.5 week old kitten lost 9g over 3 days. Rest of litter gaining well.

Hi, Im really worried about one of my 2.5 week old foster kittens. Momma's been doing great with them and everyone has been consistently gaining well, but after 2 weeks I stopped weighing them every day. I just checked and while most have gained fairly well, one is down 9 grams since three days...

Pregnant cat lethargic and panting. Going into labor or sick?

So the kittens are now 9 days old, and everything's been going really well, but the biggest kitten also isn't consistently gaining, but is on average gaining well. Is that okay? On day 5 she only gained 4g after a 17g gain on day 4, and then she gained an average of 16g days 6-8, now day 9 she...

Pregnant cat lethargic and panting. Going into labor or sick?

Note it's not even really dripping. I only see the red where she sits down to eat and drink so it's not even really enough to "drip" exactly.

Pregnant cat lethargic and panting. Going into labor or sick?

Everything's going well with the kittens, but I noticed momma had a couple drops of bright red bloody discharge yesterday and today. I know some discharge is to be expected, but was under the impression bright red is a problem? Is that so even if it's just a drop or two a day?

Pregnant cat lethargic and panting. Going into labor or sick?

Thanks for the help and reassurances everyone. The two runts are gaining really well now with minimal interventions. A tiny bit of KMR seems to have kick started their appetites. With everyone gaining well now, is there still a reason to rotate groups? I hadn't yet started rotating so they...

Pregnant cat lethargic and panting. Going into labor or sick?

So everyone is gaining really well except a now clear runt. White nose is only 106g today, so only a 3g gain. The rest gained 9-18g since yesterday. I'll start supplementing KMR, but is there more I need to do or be worried about with him?

Pregnant cat lethargic and panting. Going into labor or sick?

Thanks, I think I'm just being overanxious. My only other kitten experience was with a young cat who very much acted like a teen mom and had a litter of one. It was nearly impossible to keep her warm because mamma wanted nothing to do with her and I had to hold her down so she could nurse, plus...

Pregnant cat lethargic and panting. Going into labor or sick?

Different aspect of mothering. Having given birth night before last to 7 kittens my foster cat is so far showing great mothering instincts, but this morning I woke up to find she moved them from the warm and cozy stair landing to a little nook near the front door that is quite chilly and with...
