    Elsa's babies

Thanks for the suggestions. We've been doing really well. Combination of a crate, 2 litter trays, new litter, high sided litter box and we are having lots of successes! She's using the trays every time (though still overshoots the low tray...need to give her another high sided or maybe just take...

5 Year Old New Rescue - Litter Tray Problems

Ok little update. I have crated my beautiful girl and although we both hated it at first (she's Siamese, she told me ALL about it!!) she is now much more relaxed and settles and feels safe in there. Even when I open the door for cleaning, she stays in. I introduced 2 litter trays - one like...

    Hi from Ireland

They all just took to her. I guess her scent had been in the house for so long before they started to mingle, they probably thought she was already one of the gang! Obviously their approval was a big part of the decision.

    Hi from Ireland

I thought I'd better do an update since my family has grown. I now have 2 more girls in my cat family, Ro (Rosie) who was a mama that I fostered and Sminky, a very very nervous but pretty Siamese girl who was found straying. Ro has the run of the house (and garden!) She just decided she lives...

5 Year Old New Rescue - Litter Tray Problems

Thank you so much for finding all those links for me. I'm still newish here and find it hard to find information. No, she's not de-clawed. I live in Ireland and it's not something that's done here. I'll have a good read and see what I can come up with. I fostered Sminky initially and just...

5 Year Old New Rescue - Litter Tray Problems

Hi all I recently adopted a rescued Siamese girl, who vets think is about 5 years old (based on her teeth.) She is very very nervous and I have her restricted to my room where it's quiet. (4 other cats in the house). She hides under my bed but comes out when she hears my voice. Her eyes are...

    Elsa's babies

Hi all Sorry been mad busy getting back into our routine now that the kids are back in school! My house is quiet for the first time in over 6 months. All the kittens (Sooty, Chance, Mabel and Sophie) have gone to their new homes. Mabel and Chance went together, which I love to see. Silky has...

Aww that's so lovely. Silky would probably get on great with your kitten...she too is a feisty girl with a mischievous side!

    Elsa's babies

I've been reading up on Siamese traits / personalities and I swear Rosie must have some Siamese in her DNA. Everything I read about Siamese made me think of her. She never stops talking! Always chatted and sang to her babies and I thought once they were gone she'd stop but no, she chats to me...

Lol I presumed it was a computer glitch. I can only see 2 though.

    Elsa's babies

I would have 5 of my own then. The oldest is 18 years old now. No they don't limit numbers, it's just up to each fosterer to know how many they can care for and if adopting, can afford and can meet the conditions of adoption (provide food, water, shelter, vet care etc etc).

    Elsa's babies

No, Sminky was found straying and very underweight / coat in bad condition. She's been with another fosterer and has come on really well. Rather bizarrely she had no microchip. She was checked by the vets under anaesthetic last week so they could run bloods (her eyes are dilated a lot so the...

    Elsa's babies

Oh I forgot to mention Silky. She's back in the rescue centre waiting for a forever home. She's been spayed and is ready to go so just waiting for the right person. I'm surprised it's taken this long as she's so lovely.

    Elsa's babies

Hi all I haven't been good with the updates the last few weeks - it's been busy with the kids at home on summer holidays. While I was away, Rosie and kittens stayed with another fosterer who put a lot of time and effort into getting Chance eating. I came home 2 weeks later and he was over...

    Elsa's babies

That's a relief. It's funny I was reading about it just now and the article mentioned that kittens born to mums who have it (but who may not show symptoms) can have CH. We've just had a little guy in the cattery who had CH. His mum was extremely scared / feral and his two littermates died. Very...

    Elsa's babies

Thankfully the babies are going to a brand new foster carer. She's had no illness in her house at all. Oh that's very interesting. Panleukopenia...must say that to the cattery manager. Is it always fatal? Or just because it's young kittens that are getting it?

I'd love to see Silky and Rosie going together but I don't know if that will happen. They get on so well.
