My DSH kitty loves water (I realize that's not the case for all DSH since they are mixed from all kinds of backgrounds, but introducing them to water when they are young definitely does help). If I leave the door open while I'm showering, she jumps onto the edge of the tub and sticks her paws...
My kitty used to do that when she was a baby. She liked to suck on my ear. I always believed it was because she had been separated from her mother too early-- but she was a rescue, so I will never really know. She grew out of the suckling phase after about a year.
I found this hilarious video on myspace! Two cats RESPOND to their mommy's questions by nodding and shaking their heads. Really cute!

Enjoy!
I was pretty impressed with her last night. She's usually less cooperative (she FIGHTS me when I try to clip her nails or give her revolution! And forget softpaws... I leave that to the professionals!)... but last night she just sat on the couch with her costume and was good when the...
Interesting! I rarely give Callie wet food... she doesn't seem to care for it much, surprisingly! I always thought dry food was better for her teeth as well... a pet urban legend, perhaps?
How CUTE! All from the same litter? You are such a kindhearted and STRONG person to take in these fosters and then part with them when they are adopted... I don't think I could ever foster because I would become too attached...
The local shelter posts pictures of animals available for adoption at our town's Walmart in the Pet Aisle... which is a great idea IMO! Well, I have always loved calico cats, and here is a beautiful girl that caught my eye... I am debating whether to visit the shelter and meet her in person...
I laughed when I saw the title of this thread! A furry alarm clock... I was hoping to sleep in today but Callie's wet nose and loud motor purr wouldn't let me! She likes to snuggle in the mornings... she pushes her face into mine and kneads my neck with her claws, I mean paws. It's so cute but...
Callie began going into heat at what we thought was a young age for a cat. She was not even a year old when she peed on both ME and MY HUSBAND due to being in heat. It happened 3 times... all were at night, in the bed. Yep, the first time I awoke to a strange warm sensation on my FACE at 3...
What exactly does it mean when they do this? My cat will look up at me from the ground and nod her head several times. Sometimes she does it when I am petting her, too. I took it as a sign that she loved me and was nodding to say hello or something! Anyone else have an idea?!
Does anybody have any advice for how to manage the flaking skin on her face? She is still on her MicaVed lotion, but her face looks bad. Those of you who have experience with this, do you try to clean your cat while she's still undergoing treatment? My fear is that the flaking skin might make it...
I used to feel that way, Muppet-- Right before I got Callie, I had a sweet, angelic baby boy named Dusty... he cried and cried at night and scratched on my door, but I refused to let him sleep with me because I felt that he should have his own "space" to sleep at night, and I feared rolling onto...
I have a medium-haired calico cat... so different colored cat hairs are everywhere! She is shedding like a maniac right now, too. I vacuum my carpet and my furniture once a week, and my husband and I keep a lint roller handy because her hair gets ALL over our clothes!
When I get home everyday...
Oh my gosh! I have never heard of shelters blocking adoptions of black and white cats in October, but if it keeps the kitties safer, then more power to them! It's terrible that some people "sacrifice" innocent animals.. .
