    Thanks for the reply!  His mouth seemed to heal after 48 hours.  Unfortunately this morning the other side of his top lip is swollen and tender to touch. Plus he's very subdued and didn't ask for his breakfast (although ate it all when we gave it to him).  Sod's law that our vet closes early...

    Edit: On further inspection is it's more "raggedy" inside the lip. Almost like it's been chewed? And the swelling is a mixture of red and white.

    Thanks - we certainly think so!  His weight seems to be on track - he's certainly not putting on or losing any weight.  A lot more play time yesterday and he's seems more content today. Having said that, he's currently meowing for his lunch!  Thanks for everyones help!
