    Chronic Sneezing

Hi. I just wanted to give you guys an update. Mellisani has been taking lysime for just over a month now and I have to say it seems to have helped a lot. She still wheezes and occasionally sneezes, but not to the extent that she was before. The only problem has been she's worked out the other...

    Chronic Sneezing

Absolutely; i'm not complaining by any means, I just don't want to hope that this is something that it's not :)

    Chronic Sneezing

Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up although... it's probably a coincidence but while she's still sniffling, she has been a LOT more active today. She wasn't exactly lethargic before, but she's been running around the house with an energy I haven't seen in a long time. It's probably just...

    Chronic Sneezing

Thank you for your advice; I'm hoping that it won't come to drops (it's hard enough giving her tablets), but if it does, then I'll remember what you've said :)

I'm afraid I only got the lysine yesterday so she's had 3 x 500mg doses. I'd love to say that she's a little better today, but I think it's too soon to be certain. Thank you.

Unfortunately, any medication has the potential to be ineffective, even harmful, but it's more likely to do good than bad.

    Chronic Sneezing

Thanks.  I'm really hoping it won't come to nasal drops, but if that's what she needs, I'll get some padded shirts and gloves and do it. Thanks

Thank you; I'm sorry for your loss, but that is a small weight off my mind.

Don't worry about it; it sounds like you have your own feline problems and that's what we're here for.

    Chronic Sneezing

Mellisani had her most recent vaccinations in august... which was the time that the steroid and decongestant stopped working. Not much I can do about it now, but it's interesting to know. Thank you.

    Chronic Sneezing

Thank you. The boarding was stressful for her, and wasn't my first choice, but I didn't have another option. I tried changing her diet after the sneezing didn't stop, but while the food I switched her too was for senstive stomachs, I can't remember if it was grain free. Sadly, antihistamines...

    Chronic Sneezing

Hi. Sorry; I guess i panicked. To be clear, my vet didn't say, or imply, that coronavirus is fatal; I did my own research and FiP came up a lot, which worried me, to put it mildly. Your links did put my mind a little at ease, but I don't know what to think any more; looking back, the first time...

    Chronic Sneezing

Ok... well I've spoken to my vet and she says she doesn't think it is herpes because the injections she's given my cat are supposed to work on it. She thinks it's feline coronavirus... which is a death sentence; she wants to do a battery of tests to make sure. I don't know why she didn't suggest...

    Chronic Sneezing

Thanks to everyone for their help; I've ordered some L-lysine which should arrive tomorrow and I'll have the vet do the test this weekend. Thank you again.

    Chronic Sneezing

Thanks; I did consider feline herpes but I thought that that usually presented with ulcers and, thankfully, she hasn't had any; it's just been the sniffling and sneezing. I'll definitely get her tested; thanks!

    Chronic Sneezing

Thank you very much. You aren't out of line; to be honest, I've been thinking the same thing for a while now.  My cat, Mellisani, did have allergies when she was younger, but only in the summer, and nothing's really changed. Of course, allergies can pop up unexpectedly, but these sniffles...

    Chronic Sneezing

Hi, I'm hoping that someone can help me. For the past year, my 8 year old female Abby has had a persistent sniffle and sneezes constantly. I've taken her to the vet several times, and been told it's an upper respiratory disease, most likely cat flu; I know that we can't cure that, but is there...
