Hello Greypaws,
Misery LOVES company and YOU'RE my company! LOL! My Dublin is such a finicky scratcher, but one thing I DO know is he's a "vertical" scratcher - not horizontal and doesn't like anything but a softer(?) rope - not sisal. I had/have the EXACT problem with his 1st scratcher being...
....OOoops! Some VERY GOOD buddies from Instagram told me about the Malaseb shampoo before I spent $$ at the vet. The dark spots disappeared on Dublin's belly within a month of bathing him every 5 days.
I decided after the spots had gone away to take him to the vet for the white spots, since...
Hi, it's me again, months later. Since I've last posted, Dublin's spots have darkened AND SPREAD dramatically! That's when it was time for me to make it to a vet. Turns out it was a yeast infection that was remedied with Malaseb shampoo. He's as good as new.
Now, there appears to be white...
Sooooo glad to hear the head shaking is no longer an issue MaggieRose. Whatever it was was alarming, but like I said, I'm thinking it was a wad of wax. Bet he could hear for MILES now :-)
Petey
WOW!! Is he still shaking his head after that was pulled out? Does it have legs attached to it? Maybe it could be(?) a larger piece of matted wax buildup. Don't throw it away just yet. I'd ask a vet at a place like PetSmart or Petco if you can find one that would answer your (brief)...
I was noticing your window treatment, Swamplady. THAT appears to be MORE interesting than the xmas tree, itself! Are they individual "beads" hanging, or is it a curtain with lights attached? WOW!, if they're beads, that would be my cat's dream
Petey
I LOVE your xmas tree, Swamplady!
I have a 7 1/2 foot wrought iron tree that I can decorate MANY ways. As far as my kitty, Dublin, he's well behaved with "both" xmas trees, however I'm not brave enough to put a tree skirt under either one of them. I've seen him run at TOP SPEED from the...
Hi Lea98.
Most - if not ALL - cats despise the harness and leash when first introduced. It takes time and patience. You'll work at it, if it's something you'd like to see your cat participate in.
I'd like to add, it's healthy for cats to get out and stretch their legs, especially if they're...
As MollyBlue mentioned, her cat Snowy is deaf and scares easily from shadows while being walked.
My cat, Dublin is also deaf. I notice he'll "call" for his (Pit Bull mix) brother, Sonny if he doesn't see him immediately walking out in front. Dublin is comforted when Sonny's (visually)...
Thank you, Pushylady for your reply. I was thinking the same thing about the pigmentation and the chemicals doing harm to remove the spots. That's why I figured I'd ask. Someone else told me it may be a yeast thing.
I'm afraid a judge won't think it gives him character when he's shown...
Hello All. My Donskoy (Sphynx) Dublin is currently 9 months old. At the age of 4 months, he was attacked by fire ants and this is the result - 5 months later.
My question is, does anyone know what I can use to "safely" remove or lighten the brown staining left behind? I plan on showing him...
Took Dublin out for a second time on his harness to hang out in the grass with his big brother, Sonny (PitBull mix). There are a couple reasons I'd NEVER leave either of them unattended on a harness and lead for any length of time:
Several months ago, the first time I sat outside WITH Dublin...
That's not a bad idea, FernEden! I was even thinking of going around my neighborhood where some trees have been cut down in order to find the perfect sized "small" log, and attach it to a base where Dublin could actually scratch bark from a real tree. This of course would mean de-BUGGING that...
From day 1 at 3 months old - now almost 9 months, my kitty doesn't appear to be interested in carpeting. I have both couches covered, one with a couch cover and the other with a blanket. What I think(?) I notice is he's not a "horizontal" scratcher, but vertical....if that makes sense. He...
I'd never think of punishing my cat for scratching. I'm a firm believer in allowing a cat to do what cats do. Though I admit I gently push him away once I see him begin to scratch. I KNOW I can try harder by purchasing more posts than I have available to him now. He has ONE he likes which...
