@Crazygirl How's it going?
Update on Iris: She's still doing well! I can't remember if she had another bout of symptoms since the last time I posted on October 7th. But either way, she's been well for at least two weeks! I've been giving her cornsilk every day, along with VetriScience UT...
Happy update :)
Iris is on a five-day well streak! Clumps are almost back to normal size, and she's peeing the same number of times she usually would in a day. So proud of her!
She's currently off of both Metacam and buprenorphine. (If she starts showing signs of pain again, I'll put her back...
Yeah, I was surprised my vet knew about it. She wasn't against using Uromaxx at all.
She's been great about helping me with alternative solutions besides medicine. She's never forced anything on me that she didn't feel would help. And if something doesn't help, she's okay with discontinuing it...
A bit harsh. I do force her to take the Metacam.
The problem with the Uromaxx is that she vomits it back up when I give it to her.
I consulted with my vet and she had no issues with giving the d-mannose and cornsilk individually, as opposed to Uromaxx. She's also been great about trying to...
Update: It's been a rollercoaster lately. She'll go a few days without symptoms, but then they'll come back again in full force for a couple weeks, until they go away again... on and on...
I'm still giving the Metacam daily. Not sure how much it's helping or not. She's also still getting...
Day 2 of Uromaxx. We also tried Composure chews for the first time today, and she loved them!
She doesn't seem to be having as many issues today. Only noticed her grooming her crotch area once, and I couldn't tell if it was out of pain or if she was just cleaning. Hasn't gone to the bathroom as...
Thank you for the timely reminder!
When Harvey happened in Houston, the city opened up some large shelters but refused to accept pets at first. They relaxed the rule soon after, probably because people were bringing their pets anyway.
I told the vet that my cat is having symptoms again. They want to keep her on Metacam for a month, since it seemed to help for the week that I was giving it to her before. I'm just not sure... I keep reading terrible things about Metacam. And I found a study where they used Metacam for FIC and...
I just ordered Uromaxx. Hoping it helps. But I doubt my cat will even take it willingly. She always knows when something's been mixed with her food. I'll try though
I'll see if it helps :) I will probably start in the morning, since they both like to sleep with me at night. I don't want to disrupt their schedule too much.
Ironically, now they're sitting peacefully out on the balcony together.
It's so weird, inside they can't stop fighting. But when...
Looks like my kitty is starting to have symptoms again. :( She was feeling great for a couple weeks.
This will be her fourth flare-up since early July.
I'm not really sure what to do. I'm starting to feel like it'll never end.
I'm pretty sure it's at least partially due to some territorial...
The Zylkene doesn't seem to be doing anything for my cat so far. My vet recommended trying Composure, as well, but I haven't tried it yet.
I'll look into the CBD. Thanks!
Thank you for all of the great advice!
Sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope the interventions have helped.
In relation to the CBD oil... What brand do you use? Have you talked to your vet about it, and were they supportive or not? Just curious, because I've been researching natural...
Hey everyone. My 2yo kitty has been diagnosed with FIC. At least, the vet has ruled out other causes, and believes it must be FIC.
I'm taking several different approaches to help prevent another episode... especially upping the amount of moisture she gets in her diet, and reducing stress...
Update #4. She didn't get any of her meds this morning. Tried to shoot the liquid buprenorphine into her mouth, but she squirmed at the last second and it went onto the blanket. Tried a second dose, also failed.
And she won't eat the pill with the Fortiflora today, she knows the pill is mixed...
Update #3. She wouldn't eat any of the pill at all, so I went out and got some Fortiflora. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that before... it's worked for my cats in the past. Sure enough, once I covered the pill pieces in Fortiflora, she gobbled them right up! And licked up the...
