    Dangers Of A Vegan Diet

I hope the local SPCA, Humane Society, and/or law enforcement were informed. The people responsible for this Zane's death should never be allowed to own animals again.

    Very Doting Mother

There's no need to separate Blue from the mother cat. On rare occasions a recently neutered male can impregnate a female but as she is getting spayed in the next few weeks, this is moot. I would arrange her spay surgery when the kittens are eating wet and solid foods and are using the litter...

    Help Please Choosing Harness Size!

I'm in the process of buying new harnesses/jackets for my two to replace their strap-style harnesses I bought them when they were around eight months old. My female's neck circumference is 8.5" and her girth is just under 14". She weighs a healthy 11.5 lbs. My male's neck is 9" in...

How Many Words Does You Cat Know?

Mine two are familiar with the word OFF - especially when they are on the kitchen counter! My female grey will normally jump down but my male tabby will proceed to lie down on the counter and meow something that sounds suspiciously like 'NO'. Needless to say I seldom win the battle.

Foster Mom And 7 Kittens Night Time Care

You're doing awesome! At four weeks plus, the kittens should be large/old enough to have free reign of the bedroom (providing it is kitten-proofed and hiding spots are not accessible). I was in your shoes I would leave the crate open. As you mentioned, Mum has a place in which to escape. As...

What Type Of Blankets Should I Get For My Foster Cats?

How about buying cheap area rugs from places like Walmart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire or Lowes? I've picked a few up for my hardwood floors. I've paid between $40 and $80 for them, so I don't care when they get ruined.

Help! Lethargic Kitten (approx Two Month Old) Needs Deworming

By all means give the kitten the Drontal. It will help, but he might get lethargic from the dosage. It needs to be done. It's one pill per 4kg, so 1/4 tablet for a underweight eight week old kitten is the correct amount. You might want to slip the 1/4 pill into his food - but make sure he...

First Cat / Kitten! Need Some Advice

It's quite normal for her to hide. It's whole new world for her! If she wants to go under the bed, let her be. There's no need to pull her out. Let her get her bearings sorted and then let her come to you. If you keep trying to pull her out from under the bed, she will get scared. Don't forget...

    Advice on the FURminator

I like using it for my two and they don't object. It definitely works and I do not have an abundance of fur in my condo or on my clothes. I normally do a quick groom twice a week for my longer-furred (still a shorthair though) tabby and once a week for my shorter-furred grey girl.

My cat is viciously attacking his litter mate

Are they neutered? Rudy's aggression could also be triggered by an illness or injury. Cats can be pretty good at trying to cover this up. Has he recently been checked over by a vet?

Here in BC, it costs about $7.50 per 7lb bag. It is less expensive than World's Best.

My cats allow me to sleep in their bed. And I prefer it to the sofa.
