Got a new kitten and having some issues

My cats always seem to drink more when I clean their fountain.. I take it apart and scrub it all thoroughly with vinegar. Also I rinse it very thoroughly.. could the bowls or fountain possibly have soap or other residue? I use filtered water even to put in the filtered fountain. I know my cats...

    Cat regurgitating food

The raw food I've made is chicken thighs, chicken thigh bones, chicken hearts, chicken livers, egg yolks, and an assortment of supplements I've followed this recipie very closely http://feline-nutrition.org/nutrition/making-raw-cat-food-for-do-it-yourselfers . I used all fresh meat. It very well...

    Cat regurgitating food

My 1 year old cat pukes after I feed her unless I only feed her very very small amounts. The food that comes up isn't digested and it's usually a pretty small amount. Regardless I feel like it's not something that should be happening. I recently had to switch her back onto dry because she was...

Interested in Getting Back into Raw: Recipe Ideas?

I also reccomend http://feline-nutrition.org/nutrition/making-raw-cat-food-for-do-it-yourselfers . I follow the recipe on this page and my cats are eating it well and seem to like it. The only downside is you have to get a grinder that is capable of grinding bone. There is the option of...

    chicken thighs

I take off the skin off half of the thighs. I've been doing a lot of research and I've found that is what is suggested, or to take the skins off all of them if your cat is on the heavier side. Also it's highly reccomended to leave the fat as it contains essential nutrients for your cat.

Does one need to wash and sterilize a water fountain every day?

I use filtered water in the fountain and I actually do fully disassemble the thing once a week for a full rinsing and scrubbing with vinegar as I too have noticed the slime. I was just wondering if there is a specific raw meat cross contamination that occures from their mouths to the water...

    Tooth health

Also I forgot to mention, be careful when buying stuff off Amazon. Some items are grossly overpriced. For example, there were toothbrushes that were $57.91 on Amazon (which I was defenitly not going to buy) but coincidently my mom picked me up a couple from her local vet since mine didn't have...

    Tooth health

I highly reccomend a raw diet that involves chunks of meat and bones. I do grind some of the bones and meat on the bones, but also have smaller bones and chunks of meat in the mix. Everytime I make a new batch I increase the size of bones and chunks of meat. I'm also trying teeth brushing but...

Biting Cat Doesn't respond to various training techniques

I had this problem with my first cat. She is a full time indoor cat so I worried that was the problem at first (despite the fact she's never so much set foot on the outside ground). I tried absolutely everything. I even bought a cat wheel and had it shipped to me in Canada. She actually uses the...

Does one need to wash and sterilize a water fountain every day?

I have a filtered water fountain, the filter is replaced regularly, according to what the instructions on the filters say. I have two cats and they are fed raw. Is it necessary to clean and sterilize the fountain everyday? What about changing the water? I also have some other water bowls around...
