So, all of the kittens are doing great and growing so quickly! They were 2 weeks on Sunday. One cat has one eye that is crusted shut, though. I called the vet and have an appointment this afternoon, but they say I need to bring them all together! Any tips?
Momma cat isn't really touching her dry food, but eats any wet food right up that I bring to her. Should I just keep loading her up on the wet food and not worry about her not eating the dry?
Yes, definitely. The only thing is I will need to keep them some place far away from the new puppy!! My boys will be so happy when I finally tell them what has happened. Right now they think she's in the basement all on her own for peace and quiet. :) My boys, 6 & 9, actually have more...
Thr basement is actually really good, compared to the rest of the house...not stuffy, but not cold at all. They are snuggled together, nursing well. I just can't go down too often because Tillie loves people so much that she jumps right up to see me as soon as she senses the door opening!
To move or not to move...this pic is blurry, but I am horrified of this box she delivered in yesterday and want to move her and kittens to a nice box lined with comfy blankets instead. She and her 5 (not 3 haha) kittens seem happy, but as you can see, I can't really see how they're developing if...
Her name is Tillie! I'm going to leave the new family alone for the night, now that I know she has everything she needs. Hopefully her motherly instincts will guide her well. :)
Ok! I went down to give her fresh food, water and her litter box and she came right out to greet me and get some love...and then returned to her 3 healthy-looking kittens! I brought her nice clean nesting box down as well, and she seemed to like that. We'll see if she transfers them over!
It seems as though it's over now, and I hear a few different little meows. So I'll give her some peace for a bit and then check to make sure she's still ok! I just can't wait to give her some nice clean towels
Help! My cat is delivering her babies (not in the lovely nesting area I set up) in a covered box in the basement, and I know I should leave her be...it just looked as though she was strangling one new kitten with her back legs while the next kitten was coming! I began to want to rescue it, but...
Yup, it's definitely clear she's pregnant!...and farther along than I would have thought too! I can see them moving and kicking like crazy, so I'm a little nervous about the big day. :)
Thanks for your response! When I first brought her to the vet a couple weeks ago, we decided to hold off on vaccinations until we were sure of the pregnancy status, thank goodness. I have two boys who love to make "kitty houses" out of cardboard boxes, so they've begun work decorating the...
Hi there! A couple of weeks ago, we took in a wonderful kitty that had been abandoned at my in-law's farm when her owner moved away. She is too awesome to be a farm cat, so we had to take her. The previous owner had said she was fixed, however when I brought her to the vet they couldn't find any...
