    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

Hello there! Cobalt (now named Rory) is happily living with his adopted family. Carlyle and Cordelia are doing spectacular together with us. They are about 4 months old now. Here is a current photo of them: Carlyle is much larger than Cordelia - he is about 6.5 pounds as of today! He was...

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

No, we stopped doing that about a week ago. Any flavors/brands of wet food that are particularly enticing?

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

Will trying different flavors/brands upset their tummies? I would ideally like them to eat 50/50 wet food dry food so I am willing to try! Yes, it is for kittens. This is the dry food they have been eating: https://www.proplan.com/cats/products/focus-kitten-chicken-rice-formula Purina Pro Plan...

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

Cobalt is going to his forever home this morning  Very mixed emotions! We've definitely grown attached to this little guy but he is going to a fabulous home. Question - the kittens are growing like CRAZY since they've all fully weaned. It's great! They have definitely taken a greater interest...

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

Thanks! Cobalt is officially the first to break through the 2 pound mark! Carlyle and Cordelia are not too far behind. I feel like they are still so tiny to do any surgery. I may feel more comfortable waiting until the 12-14 week suggestion or 5 lb but I'll see what the vet suggests too.  Also...

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

Thank you :) We have also decided to keep both Cordelia AND Carlyle so none of them will be only kittens! I'll ask my vet this question too but how early do we need to have them both neutered since we'll have male/female together?

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

Poo has returned to normal for all kitties!  This is a basket we keep our tissue boxes in. Cordelia and Cobalt have claimed it as their napping nest    They are best friends. We are gonna miss this little boy when he goes home!

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

Any suggestions for getting them on an eating schedule with the wet food? When I put it down they normally graze at it as they wish between feedings. I am not sure if this is maybe causing the softer poo (it's currently tooth-paste like, tubular but somewhat mushy) as they aren't eating it when...

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

We got them their first scratching post. Cobalt went absolutely crazy with it! He loved it! Meanwhile, Carlyle and Cordelia are climbing on EVERYTHING! Cordelia can go all the way up our stairs and they can all hop up on the couch!

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

2/3 kittens have returned to normal poo. Cobalt's is still more mushy than I would like but his tummy was the most sensitive with the initial switch to formula when I recused them. It's definitely improved ... pooing at a regular consistency and no longer tracking/messy. It's solid enough that...

    Caring for abandoned/orphaned kittens

No, they haven't been wormed yet. I think it really is just the dietary change as this happened temporarily when they started on the formula as well. As I said, it's more of a "cow patty" loose stool as opposed to watery and the color/odor is completely normal. It does seem to be slowing down a...

They were pooping perfect logs before they started weaning. I added the pumpkin after they started having looser stool.
