the one kittens eye was closed again today but when i cleaned it there was no puss in his eye.
i got bored and ripped the label off and it says the stuff expired in 2013... and the name of it is "gentamicin sulfate ophthalmic solution"
i got the stuff and it turned out to be some eyedrops. she said to clean the babies eyes out then drop it into them 2x a day for a week. i did it to all the babies, and only two of them got mad. not even the one i named Diva complained. (her name is Diva because she freaks out when i pick her up...
good news! diane from the humane society called the vet near me and they're going to give me ointment for free. my brothers going to pick it up when he gets back from dropping my brother off. how should i apply the ointment to his eye? i don't want to do it wrong and hurt the little fella :(
The kitten with his eye shut has an infection. I started cleaning it and a bunch of pus started oozing out of it. I'm going to call the humane society right now and see if they can help me get some ointment for it.
They seem to be doing fine. They're all getting bigger and seem active enough for the age they're at. They all have been able to nurse from mama cat. Just the one has one of his eyes still closed.
I've found homes for at least 2 of them. And I checked on their eyes and they seem to be doing better. Only one has their eyes glued shut and it's not green anymore. Just whitish. Their eyes are still watering but they're not red anymore.
Fed her again. She ate about 2/3rds then mama cat came over and I gave her the rest. She licked the baby clean too. The kitten keeps twitching. Is that normal? Also I think some of them have an eye infection. Got green looking boogers on their eyes and when I cleaned it off their eyelids were...
I live in Atchison Kansas. I have a humane society in my town but I know they're low on funds. I will try to feed her again soon. She's crying again but shes still semi alert. She at least responds to my touch.
She took two feedings and was seeming to get better there for a bit though. :(
I put her in with her siblings. She's still breathing hard but she isn't crying out or panting anymore.
I'm pretty sure she didn't. I tried to feed her again and she wouldn't eat it. She only swallowed some of it. Most of it dropped out of her mouth and onto the washcloth.
i have no money for it and when I told my family they just looked at me like I was crazy. :( I don't think I can convince them. They really don't seem to care at all.
Uh I'm not sure. She was panting and heavy breathing. She's doing it again and she started crying out. I picked her up for a little bit then her mom came over and she seemed like she wanted to be near her. Mama went into the box so I put her in there so mama started licking her.
I held her up...
Yes they are right by my bed. I put her in the box with her siblings. She's breathing heavy again. :( but her siblings are around the compress and she seems to not be as irritated. I moved one of the babies closer to her to comfort her and I guess they dint like the compress. They are around it...
I got some ice in a bag and put a washcloth over it and out her on top of it. She seems to get agitated when someone tries to touch her, but she gets distressed and starts crying when someone's not near her. I think she just wants some comfort right now but my skin is warm so maybe it makes her...
The window units are on. We have the apartment sectioned off so the back is way hotter than the front. I have the cats in the front. She feels a lot hotter than her siblings. Right now I have her on a pillow in front of the fan and she's doing much better. She's breathing normal now.
I have two window units but my apartment has horrible insulation. I held her in front of one of the units for a bit it I didn't want her to get too cold. She seemed to like it though and put her face toward the air.
