I have not had to go through the pain of loosing a parent (They are nearing 70), I cannot imagine what you are going through.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
First hand experiance - Clove oil using an earbud to apply.
It will sting, and tastes horrible - but it will ease the pain and has slightly antiseptic qualities.
The same thing happend to me a few years ago, I landed up getting the dental surgeon to remove the tooth under local anaesthetic-...

Since childhood, I have had such a fascination with Japan, but have never had the opportunity to visit.
It almost feels like I am there
and the cats are cool too
I have been smoke free for almost 9 months (and , no, I am not pregnant).
Don't be afraid to use patches / gum when you need to. Don't feel that you are failing because you can't adhere to someone else's quit program. Everyone is different
I have given up a few time before, but nothing stuck...
Hope has been on my mind as well, coming up to the anniversary.
I am not often on-line, but thought I would pop by to pay my respects and to remember Hope as one of the most generous and kind hearted women I have ever had the honour of 'meeting'.
RIP Hope, you are loved and missed by all

As for me..... 7 weeks!
To be honest I still have cravings - they don't last long, but I feel fantastic
keep it up everyone and Chris, do it in your time... when you are ready
Julianne
Even now, after a month, I still congratulate myself every night before I fall asleep
I tell myself 1 more day without a cigarette
Excellent work Lil Maggie
And vibes to Chris, Babygirl - you are fabulous!
Keep it up team
About 10 years ago, I was living alone for the first time... and by mistake I left a hob in the kitchen on... all night...
(we don't use gas in SA, so it was an understandable mistake!)
The next morning I woke up, got ready for work, and was about to leave....
when I heard a strange noise...
Well , 1 month along
And it was the best thing I did!
The only advise I can give is that it gets easier, but watch out for the anniversary's they are a killer! I found it was easy during the week, but fridays (my quit day) were terrible!
You are doing amazing - keep it up!
Thats the attitude to have!
Remember one day at a time - do not think about not smoking tomorrow, the weekend etc... Just concentrate on today!
Julianne.
Keep it up!
That is fantastic! Have you started to feel changes in your breathing / taste yet??
It is now 3 weeks for me, and I am feeling fantastic. Although I am quite fit, I am now considering taking up karate or self defence classes... I never thought I would be feeling like this a month ago!
Just popping in to say you are all doing a fantastic job!
I am still off the cigarettes and feeling great!
Still have the occasional craving, but after being smoke free for this long, there is no way I am going to start from scratch again!
Babygirl, keep at it! I found Day 3, Day 7 and Day...
