I weighed the Kittens last night out of curiosity
White 168g
Dirty White 160g
Tuxedo 171g
Black+ orange 162g
At 4 days old I would say they are doing just fine
There is one that is as far as I can tell now totally white one
One Tuxedo
One Black and Orange
One dirty white
plus the orange premature one that didn't make it
Midnight had 4 healthy Kittens, she seems to be the perfect mother to these 4 I have not seen her leave their side except to eat and drink since they were born a few hours ago.
She is huge and started looking for an area to nest in again so I would imagine in a few more days we will see the rest. I certainly plan on having her spayed this litter was a bit of a surprise.
Unfortunately it didn't make it despite our best efforts, I am convinced the issue with the furnace was the reason it failed as it stressed Midnight out far to much ( the furnace guy asked us to leave the house while he tested the new furnace for leaks midnight was going nuts so I assume there...
Expedited deliver here is still about 3-4 business days so I probably would not see it until Tuesday. We are giving it about 2 ml every 2 hours but the syringe we have is what they had at the pharmacy maybe a bit big for it about .5 ml ends up on the floor. I think the goats milk is probably the...
I will check the store for goats milk, the mama cat is feeding the kitten I just do not trust the Kitten is getting enough solely from the mother due to her behavior and short feeding sessions so I am only supplementing what the kitten gets from his mother. 88 g seems light for a 2 day old...
Well good news and bad news. Good news first, it seems that my scent is why she keeps moving the kitten to the closet, the clothes she pulled together smell like me and she makes a nest in my clothes so we moved the pile of clothes to where it is warm and the issue was solved. I believe it is...
I cant move the floor heater anywhere near the nest the mother hates it but the little one seems to like it. What I ended up doing is moving the hot water bottle to the nest when mama leaves he cuddles up to it for warmth but I still need to move it near the floor heater sometimes to keep him...
I work at the local grocery store I will pick up a food scale to keep track tomorrow and weigh daily at the same time, I have noticed she does wash him each time I bring him to her right before she moves him to the corner where she feeds him and washes more then leaves probably as soon as it...
It started feeding with its mother but I have to supervise because she keeps moving it to a corner near the outside wall of our house... since its so far north it is -20 or colder outside so all the outside walls are to cold for a kitten. So every time she feeds the kitten I have to move it back...
The kitten is sleeping soundly, managed to coax the mother into feeding it for about 8 minutes then supplemented about 1 ml of warm formula from a syringe. Thanks for the advice, looks like allot of work for awhile but it will be worth it I am sure.
I assume it is the Umbilical cord, coming out of the belly, (ya I know that is likely normal) it was not there before it seems to be coming out of the belly because it wasn't out like that until just now.
I am going to run to the store and pick up a few things. Quick Update though it had another very brief feeding session maybe 2 minutes.
Now there is another possible issue which may have existed but not been visible until now
The kitten is where Midnight moved her she left to go eat and I...
