Does anyone know if these salt lamps are actually toxic to cats? Would they have to ingest them by licking, or could simply bring around one cause a poisoning effect?
I've been reading the blogs linked above and picked up several more cans today! Did get some wild calling, some GO grain free, natures variety instinct wet (and the dry too just in case they aren't eating and I need to supplement). I should start keeping a food journal. The raw foods available...
Im transitioning off of veterinary wet and dry food to all-meat wet food only for my 2 cats. One has always eaten the vet fibre food because she gets constipated. Currently she hasn't pooped in a couple days since I started the wet food only diet. My other cat has had interstitial cystitis so...
I really should make the switch to raw while I'm home for the summer. I don't want to prepare it myself so it would need to be a high quality prepared raw food.... What are the first things I need to know about transitioning and doing it safely?
Alternatively, can anyone recommend the best food for interstitial cystitis that is also good for IBD or food sensitivity? I've read some bad hints about Acana and blood in the urine and stool on some forums, but it seems to be from a different manufacturer in the states? I'm in Canada.
My 5 year old male cat, who has a history of "food sensitivity" and potential IBD, had a case of interstitial cystitis back in February and has been on Royal canin so urinary food since... Vet quality food as we know is basically garbage, and he's been throwing up a lot lately (often with hair...
He had a urinalysis done last week and there was a bit of blood in it, about the same as a few months ago, but the vet said the only things we can do are keeping giving him the SO, lots of water, and the cosequin supplement for his bladder lining. He has never had actual stones present, just...
The vet did a full blood work up and X-ray and couldn't find anything, save for the inflamed bronchi. He was ok for a couple of days, and now today he did eat his breakfast and then spent the entire day sleeping. Again he wouldn't come down for his dinner... I wrapped him up in a burrito blanket...
Hi all,
Last night my cat wouldn't eat his dinner, very odd for him. I found two piles of digested food vomit in the basement then watched him throw up some foamy stuff. He was sitting like a loaf in the basement. His breathing was rapid to me so I took him to the emergency vet.
After a clear...
Thanks for the advice! We stick to the backyard only, and he fully explores the whole thing. He seems to be triggered when he is on a strange scent, so it must be redirected aggression.
Recently I've been taking my indoor male 5 year old cat outdoors, as he's very bored and gets into trouble inside. He wears a comfortable harness and I follow him around the backyard on a leash. He has all his shots to be able to go outside.
The past few times we've been out he's been scared by...
A bit lethargic yes compared to my 5 year old boy who is quite active. Just something I observed while being home all day with them yesterday. She spent most of her time napping in the sun... And he spent most of his time trying to break outside ( he goes out once a day into the backyard on the...
The past couple of weeks my 3 year old girl has seemed to be a bit slow moving, like having to claw her way up the couch instead of jumping, sleeping and relaxing more. She's eating and drinking and to my knowledge using the litter regularly ( I have 2 cats with 3 boxes). She just underwent a...
