Our cats sound nearly identical with their allergy issues. They checked his lungs out in x-rays and saw a little bit of scarring but nothing too bad. They all seem to think the inflammation is mostly in his nasal passages now. Once his food was changed he stopped the coughing (which is what they...
Thats right the inhaler was a steroid medication. At the time I was told it was safer than oral steroids, but the vets I've seen after don't really like the idea of the inhaler. They tell me the shot or oral are more effective. I will look at that article thank you.

Hi thanks for this response! They tried doxycycline but it was only 3 days I believe. He was also resisting it so much (kept coughing it up) that the vet said to let it go. This was earlier in the journey before the ct scan and diagnosis. Is this only in pill form? Did your cat have similar...
I'm not new here and have posted in the past about my cat's breathing issues. It's never ending at this point as we have been to many different vets and tried different treatments. I will say he has improved after we eliminated chicken from his diet. He doesn't have coughing fits anymore. He has...
Vet just prescribed my cat nose drops for his chronic stuffy nose. It's only been a couple of days but everytime we put a drop in his nostril he quickly does a big exhale and pushes it out. Is there a way to avoid this?
My 8 yr old cat has had recurring uri since I adopted him. A couple of months ago he went in to get a ct scan and biopsy after we found a pink mass in in his nostril. It was benign and he was diagnosed with eosinophilic rhinitis. They recommended steroids for treatment of his chronic...
UPDATE!!!
His biopsy results came back and it's not cancer! She said its a granuloma. He was diagnosed with eosinophilic rhinitis. He wont need any more surgical intervention, but she's calling our previous internist to see if they can get him on a treatment plan. I'm so relieved for him...
He got his ct scan this morning and is currently at the vets on fluids until later this afternoon.
CT scan showed his right nasal passage had a soft mass (the one we could see while looking up his right nostril), which she was able to use her forceps to take out for the biopsy. She said it was...

For a surgery which uses anesthesia, most vets will offer a pre surgery blood test. It is not usually free, but is a good idea to accept. Given that your cat is not having surgery, but may only need to be sedated, they may or may not offer this...
We went into the specialist late last week and got his blood work done. It looked good so we're going to move ahead with the CT scan. They were going to try to fit me in tomorrow because of how long this whole process has been so far but unfortunately they weren't able to. I don't know when the...
The specialist is all booked up and the soonest she can see me is in more than a week. I booked the appointment but think he needs something sooner. All of the regular vets told me he needs a specialist because the surgery would be more invasive since it's in his nose. I'm worried if it is...
Still don't know much after todays appointment. The vet was great, did a nasal flush and all, checked lungs and mouth. He said he's still getting air through the nostril with the growth so that is good. I was referred to a surgeon where he said they will have to make sure he's in good enough...
