my 1 year old is recovering from severe anemia after using Doxycycline/Enrofloxacin but nothing diagnosed yet

I'm glad they found out what was causing it and I hope Fibonacci gets well quickly! Stick with the medications your vet prescribed, especially if he's responding well to it. If he stops eating again, then let your vet know ASAP. I don't know much about Bartonella, but I know that cats can...

my 1 year old is recovering from severe anemia after using Doxycycline/Enrofloxacin but nothing diagnosed yet

I saw your post on my old thread. If it's non-regenerative, then it's not the same thing as my cat had. Non-regenerative can be caused by some kind of poisoning (like the cat accidentally got into and ate something he shouldn't have when no one was looking) or an illness such as leukemia or...

Chonky cat with anemia...but still eating

Harry died just before Christmas 2020. The vet gave him a shot of steroids to give him an appetite but instead it just caused him to suffer ketoacidosis and that was more than his body could take.

Cat on Cyclosporine won't Eat...tips to help?

Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions, everyone. I am going to call the vet again when they open today, and talk to them about nausea medication. I'm not even sure if it's nausea per se, because he won't touch his dry kibble, but he'll lick at wet food until the plate is dry...

Cat on Cyclosporine won't Eat...tips to help?

My cat Harry was diagnosed in October with Primary Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. He's been on Prednisone since then. 2 weeks ago, the vet had us start transitioning him off Prednisone onto Cyclosporine (he said long-term steroids can cause "toxicity"). Since starting Harry on the...

Chonky cat with anemia...but still eating

Hi, thank you for the replies. Took him to the vet yesterday afternoon, and the vet still did not have all the results back so he doesn't know what's the underlying cause yet. Good news is that the white blood cell stuff is now in the normal range, but his red cell stuff got lower. He said...

Chonky cat with anemia...but still eating

SHORT VERSION: So my 10 year old cat Harry has anemia, but he's still eating and still grooming. That's good, right? LONG VERSION: 6 months ago my cat Harry had an enlarged and torsioned spleen that had to be surgically removed. He recovered back to normal in about a month. However, yesterday...
