Zoe just had surgery -- I'm a first-timer. Need advice from the kitty sages.

Thanks to everyone who responded. You guys are probably right that it's better to just keep the collar on. She gets really depressed with it, though, so it's hard for me not to take it off and let her feel normal again. But I suppose a few days of depression is infinitely better than her...

Zoe just had surgery -- I'm a first-timer. Need advice from the kitty sages.

So Zoe -- who is 2 1/2 just had four stones removed from her bladder on Thursday. I brought her home from the vet yesterday morning, and she was acting okay. They put an E-collar on her (one of those upside-down lampshade things) because she's a wee bit difficult at the vets (*cough* they...

Please help me, please - cat gone crazy

To everyone who responded: Thank you. I picked Zoe up from the vet yesterday at around 5, and the doctor told me that she was acting fine (though she did make a 'tent' under the newspaper and hid instead of urinating on it for them -- classic Zoe) -- but when her bladder was finally full, he...

Please help me, please - cat gone crazy

The ONLY thing that I could think of is that I did my nails a few hours before she flipped out. I used a nailpolish remover pad and tossed it in my trash can that's near the bed. Maybe she smelled that and freaked out. I opened the door to the bathroom this morning and was going to try to...

Please help me, please - cat gone crazy

It's possible that a mouse got in, but not very likely. We've only had a mouse two times in twenty years of living here. And we're on the 17th floor of a highrise in Manhattan, so a mouse can't just pop in from outside. As far as scent is concerned, I would agree that she's very attuned to me...

Please help me, please - cat gone crazy

She is spayed. She had an upper respiratory infection about three weeks ago, but has been absolutely fine after antibiotics. The vet did blood tests just to make sure and everything checked out. Physically, she should be the picture of health. Thank you for responding.

Please help me, please - cat gone crazy

She's in the bathroom and I can hear her meowing. It's breaking my heart. Please does anyone have anything like experience with this? I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong spot or if I am not doing this right but I'm desperate.

Please help me, please - cat gone crazy

I don't know what to do, I haven't stopped crying for hours. Tonight at around 9pm EST (it is now 12:27am) my cat started sniffing the air. Not uncommon. A few minutes later she jumped on my bed and started hissing and growling and attacked me. She scratched my hand before I got away from...

Does your cat wake you in the morning?

Zoe tends to give the inside of my arm a few licks (which, with a rough kitty tongue on a very sensitive area, wakes me right up), but this Saturday morning she decided to jump on my back and knead my shoulders. I gotta tell ya -- it was a really nice massage. If I could train her to do that...

    Please Help me & Zoe!

Thank you all for your support, kind words, and information. After washing whatever they put in my hair out on Sunday (And sending $60 right down the drain, but so worth it!), Zoe started to come around. By Wednesday (today) she is acting like her old self again. So I guess it was just the...

    Please Help me & Zoe!

Y'know.. I found some catnip last night that she never responded to when she was a baby and gave it to her. She really seemed to like it - was rubbing her face all over it. And after she was done, I put it away in a drawer. I brought it out just now and tossed it on the bed. She went up on...

    Please Help me & Zoe!

Thank you for your reply. There weren't any other animals around, though I've been around animals before and come home to her, she doesn't bat an eyelash. She lets me pet her now, but won't come on the bed (her formerlly favorite place to be) and won't let me pick her up. I'm having fits of...

    Please Help me & Zoe!

Thank you for your kind thoughts. No, I didn't get a perm. Just a shampoo and a blow-dry. Nothing I haven't gotten before. I'm thinking of just rewashing my hair with my normal shampoo, in case that's what's freaking her out.

    Please Help me & Zoe!

Please help. I'll give you some background, maybe that will help. I have always been a dog person. We've had Yorkie's since I was born (before, actually) and I'd never really met a cat that I felt a connection with. When I moved in with my bf last Jan. we adopted a kitten. He was much more...
