I say see the vet to be %100 sure.. My female kitty started peeing on the steps at 11 and it was the start of some medical conditions. She was fine with the box I was actually confused at the smell for the first 2 days until I found the wet spot. Its worth the visit I think.

No.. vets are usually good and labs are labs, just starting with the what if question first. I agree on the spay.. makes life easier on everyone!
