Pros: Well made, easy to clean - my cats love it

Cons: need to check for nails inside

I've had one of these for about 4 years, along with a Seek-A-Treat Shuffle Bone Dog Puzzle.  My cat's love both of them.  Especially Lucy.  Several times throughout the day, she finds me and leads me to the puzzles.  I use them to dispense treats.  I drop a piece of freeze dried shrimp or chicken inside, sit back and watch the fun.  Each of my cats uses a different technique to retrieve the food.  Overtime though, Archie, my tabby, figured out that he could let Lucy do all of the work, then swoop in and steal the treat - naughty boy.

The puzzle box can also be used for toys.  Though, my cats quickly grew bored fetching balls and toy mice.  As a treat dispenser and mental stimulus, the product works great.

The Peek-a-Prize Prior is well constructed and looks nice.  However, prior to purchase I read that some users reported nails sticking out inside the box.  Mine had that issue.  I'm so glad I checked mine; it could have caused serious injury.

Pros: Durable, good way to stimulate cat's brain, entertaining to watch cats learn.

Cons: Can be "too easy" for some smart cats, others may not be interested.

My female kitty loves to play, and she's the smarter of my two. I got this toy to stimulate her to use her brain in getting out her favorite toys and she's already figured it out within a few minutes of playing. Items so far I've used: small rattling mice, bat-arounds fur ball, and ethical pet's heavy gauge plasitc springs. It's been fun watching her learn to get things out, too. Now it's my turn to think of better and more challenging toys to put in it that she'll love trying to paw out.

Maybe the next items inside would be a small piece of freeze dried meats as they'll have to work harder to get small tidbits out? I don't feed kibble, but others for others that do, or have a cat that needs to have some weight loss or needs to slow down, this could help.

One star off since only some cats will take to them; my other kitty who is about the same age has no interest in this toy after two days of sniffing and investigating, and he isn't food driven, either.

Pros: Well constructed. Made from real wood.

Cons: Over-priced

I recently bought this. It's well constructed and it's good for about 1/2 hour of fun once loaded up with various toys. It comes with 2 hard balls.

SmartCat Peek-a-Prize Pet Toy Box

Cats have an instinctual desire to watch cracks and crevices, especially when they know that something is hiding just beyond their sight. The Peek-A-Play Toy Box is designed to build on your cat's instinct by partially hiding some of your cat’s favorite toys, and your cat will go crazy fishing them out. Peek-A-Play is especially great for those times when you have to leave your cat home alone, because this toy will keep your cat occupied for hours. Rotate the toys in the box so they are always digging for something different, and for extra fun, put a few food treats inside.
