Nutramax Cosequin for Cats

100% Positive Reviews

Pros: Easy to use

Cons: None

I have used Cosequin successfully for many years for my older kitties who have arthritis.  I have given both once capsule daily or twice daily, depending on how they are feeling.  It's best to open the capsule and sprinkle the medication onto wet food and mix in.  My RB kitty, Callie, was limping, didn't want to jump, and was generally not feeling like moving around.  We started her on Cosequin twice a day (one capsule twice a day).  Within a few days, I could see a tremendous change in her.  She was moving better, not limping, and was jumping up onto low surfaces.  During the cooler months, we usually gave 2 capsules.  During the warmer months, we were able to cut it back to one capsule daily.  I now use it on my senior kitty just to keep her joints feeling good.

Pros: affordable, & easy to sprinkle in food.

Cons: None

My cat Angel has been on this for over a year now because of urinary issues with cystitis last year.  I gave it to him every day, & it worked great.

Now that he has not had an episode in a little over a year, I started giving it to him every other day for maintenance a few months ago.

He is 9 years old , so I will continue to keep him on it to keep his joints in good shape as he gets older.

Pros: palatable, easy to use, good for joints and bladder

I have a cat with urinary issues. He's had four blockages and got the PU surgery. He's had a UTI since his surgery last year, and I wanted to find a way to prevent recurring UTIs. To keep his bladder lining healthy, I use Cosequin. I sprinkle two capsules every other day, but sometimes I use it every day (I use two capsules because he is a 17 lb cat). I mix it in with the wet food and he gobbles it right up. I'm glad that he doesn't notice any medicine-smell or taste. It seems to be working well because there's been no signs of a UTI since I started using it. Also, it's a plus that it treats arthritis and joint inflammation, because he is part Maine Coon and they're known to get arthritis when they're older.

If you have a cat with bladder issues or blockages, supplement with Cosequin!

Nutramax Cosequin for Cats

Sprinkle Capsules/Chicken and Tuna Flavored Cosequin plays an important role in maintaining optimal joint function. Healthy articular (joint) cartilage is crucial to joint utility. Cosequin helps support cartilage production and protect existing cartilage from breakdown. Cosequin is the only joint health supplement brand shown effective, safe, and bioavailable in published, controlled U.S. studies. Cosequin is manufactured following standards similar to those practiced by the pharmaceutical industry. There are not many joint support options available specifically for cats. There are some products used in dogs that are not as safe in cats. Cosequin has been shown to be safe in cats. Cosequin, a nutritional supplement, safely and effectively provides joint cartilage support while maintaining your cat's comfort level. Some veterinarians also recommend Cosequin to help support urinary bladder health. The inner lining of the bladder wall is protected by a layer, which contains some of the same compounds as are found in cartilage. This layer prevents urine and the waste products contained within it from seeping into and damaging the lining. Since the low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate found in Cosequin is available to more than just cartilage cells, the bladder may use it to help support this protective layer. Cosequin for Cats contains natural chicken and tuna flavored capsules specially formulated for cats.
