Pros: Very sturdy, optional casters, removable lid, nice big scoop
I'm currently not using this as intended (not for food), as I don't feed kibble. So why did I get this? To house my 40 lb bag of scoopable clay litter! One of my cats is a chewer, and it's been more than one occasion where I've caught him nibbling a hole in the plastic bag of cat litter, which has caused a terrible leaky mess! I also needed a way to transport the extra clean bag of litter from one room to the next since I've got more than one box to refill or top off. The option of adding casters on the lower container has been a great feature! Since getting it, I've added the wheels on very easily and filled the bottom container to the rim with pure clumping clay litter and it's held up quite well! I no longer have to struggle carrying the extra clean litter bag from one spot to the next, and it looks nicer in my small apartment. Just wheeling it around is so much easier! All I can say is, if it holds my heavy clay litter, it should hold your bag of kibble without a problem. The lid is also removable, and can be easily snapped back into place, though I've rarely needed to do that. As for whether it's airtight? I can't really say, but there is a soft seal on the lid's underside where it meets the top edge of the container. I guess if I were to store kibble, I'd leave it in the bag as is, and perhaps clip it shut with some binder clips before storing it inside this container. And it may help to keep food in a cool area like a pantry closet if you have one.
Another plus is that it comes with a large, sturdy plastic scoop, so topping off my litter is so easy and much less of a hassle than it used to be. I use the top smaller container to hold any kitty small accessory like cat brushes, any spare toys I'm saving (da bird refills), a blacklight, extra batteries, packets of fizzion (enzyme cleanerd ) tablets, kitty collars, etc. Very pleased with my storage container!
