Pros: Armakat quality
Cons: Traps dirt a little too easily, hanging toy a choking hazard
This is a basic, simple option for a cat tree. It has one cubby hole, a few floors and a couple of perches. Nothing fancy, but it works. Armakat trees are known for their sturdiness and durability, and this one does not disappoint. The perches are rather spacious too; unlike the A7401 model, my big 15 lb cat fits snugly on the perches.
The downside to this is that the material traps dirt and hair very easily. Frequent cleaning and vacuuming is advised. Also, do not use the hanging toy that comes with the tree. Don't know what the manufacturer was thinking, but the toy (which is a fluffy ball attached to a *really* flimsy string) is a potential choking hazard. The string is so flimsy that there is real danger of an overenthusiastic kitty swallowing the string. Never leave the string toy unattended and never let your cat play with it unsupervised. You're better off just attaching the fluffy ball to a rod of your own to make a wand toy, than leaving it on the tree.
Otherwise, great tree that's going strong after almost two years.
