I placed an online order for cat food so I wouldn't have to spend much time in the store. They also offer 10% off $50 for ordering online and picking up in-store. So I ordered $70 of canned food, dry food and treats and waited for the email that the food was ready to pickup. Kind of a pain...
I was just in Petsmart today and they have plenty of stock, but only of the expensive stuff, the $1.50 to $2 or more cans. The "cheaper" 73¢ Fancy Feast shelves were mostly bare.
In the Petsmarts I've checked, no FF Creamy Delights on the shelf anymore, including the variety packs. Not even any empty spaces for them. I'm fearing that Purina is transitioning FF away from small cans in favor of the pricey Petites split plastic trays the same way Mars got rid of Sheba in...
Thanks for all the advice. I checked with a local "crazy cat lady" with a ton of cats and she said that while Mom may eventually come to tolerate the newcomer, she will probably never become close with her. I'm not interested in cats who just tolerate each other and keep their distance. I've...
She was part of a pampered pair, so she's not getting any different treatment now. It's just that I'm out of the home 10 hours a day and I worry that she's lonely without any company during those hours. I loved watching her and her daughter playing together, grooming each other, sleeping cuddled...
Mom is now 11. It's not that I don't want another cat. I would be happy to be owned by one or two cats. They're wonderful creatures. But I have to look at everything through the lens of what would be best for them.
Actually, when the two of them would get into cat fights, I'm pretty sure Mom...
I recently lost one of my girls (much too soon before her time) but still have her mother. How can I be sure she would be okay with a new cat? Her personality has changed since her daughter passed. She seems to have become more affectionate, spending more time in my lap, sleeping against my side...
It's not just Fancy Feast, though. Even some expensive grain-free foods were discontinued, like Purina Beyond. As for Blue Buffalo and Hills, my cats have never liked them. Besides, Hills dry food has so many grain fillers that I would never feed it to my cats.
I was just wondering if Petco's pet food sales figures had changed since this ban was enacted, and if it went down, whether they would be rescinding the ban. Couldn't find any information, but I did find this old blog that doesn't paint a flattering picture of the ban...
My first cat absolutely refused to touch the original Sheba that came in square plastic trays rather than cans. Not so much as a lick. She would just sniff it and walk away.
A little while back, I stopped buying Sheba because Mars shifted from cans to those split plastic trays, where they charge more for less product in the name of "convenience." I still fed my girls some Iams Purrfect Delights as a treat every day because they really like it. But now it looks like...
What is going on with Purina? Their prices have gone through the roof recently. I order cases of Fancy Feast pate and they've gone up 25% in just a few months. Purina Beyond grain free dry food went up over 60% since I ordered it less than a year ago.
Personally, I don't trust the cheap supermarket brands like Meow Mix and 9 Lives. You'd be paying for grain fillers they can't digest. Grain-free food costs more, but about the same amount of nutrition is absorbed in a smaller amount of food. Plus the cats generally like them better. It's a...
