I guess I should add that they do this because they are expecting breakfast! One of us usually feeds them between 6:30 and 7:30. They don't like to wait, especially Nella! She is bad for begging.

If it's in a resealable bag, I'd think a month is just fine to have the bag opened, especially if your cats still enjoy the treats. But a couple more weeks and it's probably at the point where they will start to go bad. 

I'm glad you stated this is only your personal opinion, because that is quite an unfounded statement to make. Curious - where did you get your stats? Hills has an enormous international market, and if vets really saw all these pets DYING from a food THEY prescribed, don't you think they might...
