Thanks very much Rosiedozy, that's really helpful information. We use ceramic feeding and water bowls and I have a vague suspicion it may be the new food that he's on so I think I will pursue that avenue of investigation! Really appreciate your advice, thanks :) . 

Hi everyone, my 8 month old kitten has developed these black marks on his muzzle. I am wondering whether this is feline acne? It seems a rather unusual location? any advice and tips and tricks on how to help him clear this up much appreciated.
