We put our lovely Lona down about a hour ago. I felt terrible going in but the vet agreed that we could do no more, the antibiotics did not take well and the cancer had grown another 15-20%. She had also lost another .4 lbs in two days. She had no pain up until the end and died in my arms.
Thanks for the advice. Her tumor went from nothing on monday/tuesday to over 2.5 inches by Saturday. Its growing overnight according to my wifes eyes.
She is eating well like Taco did, she is using the litter box but is dragging her wound in the litter which I have to clean off. the...
Kind of a add on to my previous post. Here

So Lona has been taken to the vet, she has large cell cancer.
It has broken through the out layer of her skin. Its now a open sore, I had it biopsied. It broke through Wednesday morning and...
OK got back from the vet, LArge cell cancer in two lymph nodes that we can feel, more then likely masticating. This is the short answer
Long Answer.
They are rapid onset. One of the larger masses ~2 inches broke the skin and that's what got infected. So she is now on massive antibiotics...
Bath this morning, dried her up with the hair drier. She was wet again near the wound when I got home.
She is going in tomorrow at 9:00 to get it checked. She scratched at it enough today to get it to bleed. Behavior is changing rapidly though. Hiding, not coming out for treats, not good signs...
Don't know about the laying in water, its weird. She hates the bath though, found that out this morning. Nice and clean now, I can touch the spot now and its pretty inflamed but not open sores. I have a triple cream on her, (neosporin, bactien, general antibiotic)
I will say that she is weeping...
Quick question. Just need assurance.
I have a 17 year old coon rescue that I am taking care of currently. She knocked over a bowl of water and decided that's where she would crash out for the night. Really weird cat.
Flash forward two days later her belly is still wet somehow and quite red...
First off the breeder should have little to do with it unless the stud and B were very very nasty. Maine Coons as a whole are a persnickety breed, they don't realize just how big there are and need to be shown that they are doing damage to there owners.
Most as in say 30 out of the 50 I have...
I second this they are pretty indestructible as far as cats go. They have to be really really dirty to get knots at least mine do. Throw them in the bath if it gets to be to much but make sure you neutralize there coats if you use a strong soap.
Grab a furminator and go to town on them if...
Doubt it is that bad, my older girl loves this stuff and its one of the few foods that she can keep down without regurgitating.
I settled and bought the healthy choice version and I just add some of the vitamin/malt paste to it and she is happy as a pig in slop.
Need some help here, my oldest cat Lona, 13, just got back from her yearly checkup. Vet found a elevated heart rate say 210 bbm, about 15% weight loss.
So we did a check for hyperthyroidism, negative. Chest xray next, shows larger heart and possible cardiomyopathy, is so slight we cannot tell...
Got To love DIGG and 4CHAN for exposing this kid and his family, and making the rest of their lives a living hell.
People never quite understand the power of really pissed off people on the internet with access to information, bravery to use it wisely, and in this case a love of animals...
There is a major difference between any VW made after 2003 and before, the early stuff is pretty indestructible. I have seen a few GTIs from the 80's run until the wheels fall off, the diesels are also typically built better.
The new stuff when it comes in is just expensive to repair and...
