Getting a feral cat to play

It has been awhile since I posted regarding my adopted feral cat.  If it is one thing we have learned is that patience is the Key!  After 6 months, our feral Tortie has started to play.  She is still a little skitish at times but she has bonded with my wife and follows her almost every where. ...

    Drooling?

Our feral cat was drooling a lot when we got her to come into the house.  Turned out it was tooth related.  We had her teeth cleaned and examined.  Several teeth fell out during the exam and several had to be extracted, but the drooling stopped immediately.

    Deafness caused by Teeth Cleaning

She did have something called Horner's Syndrome which is a problem with the eye caused, I think, by damage to a nerve that services the eye.  Cats usually get better in 4-6 weeks and that did forutnately happen with our cat.  We did read an article by a Cornell Vet who stated that hearing loss...

Urgent vibes and prayers needed for feralvr's Perla!

I just replied to your input to us on Sienna our Tortoise Shell when I saw your post about your cat's eye.  Our cat had a number of problems including an eye problem the Vet attributed to a deep ear cleaning.  There were multiple pills and liquids that we had to give her.  My wife is the nurse...

Getting a feral cat to play

Three teeth were extracted, two fell out on their own while being cleaned - all four K-9's are intact.

    Deafness caused by Teeth Cleaning

Has anyone had any experience with a cat who came back from a teeth cleaning being rendered deaf. Our feral cat had terrrible teeth and a constant drouling problem.  We had her teeth worked on.  She lost several in the process and a few were pulled.  That was good and she does not droul...

Getting a feral cat to play

My wife and I took in a feral tortoise shell cat.  We were suprised to learn she had already been spayed so we think she may have been a home cat before.  She knew how to use a litter box and likes our company.  She will jump up on the chair to nap in our laps.  But she doesn't play.  This is...
