Thanks for your reply. Decided to bite the bullet and took her to the vet. They said they could not detect any bacteria in her eye and that it seems to be just an inflammation. Removing the gunk is easily done, but in an hour or so it comes back but it's not as severe. She is now on anti-biotics...
