Thank you all for your kind words. He could have lived 50 years, and I still wouldn't have been ready for this. I miss him so much it hurts, but I am feeling better, in part thanks to the very kind people here. What a wonderful group of people you are :)

His name was Ash.  I met him the day he was born, and we've hardly been apart ever since.
