Hi everyone,
I saw my 7 month old kitty pass a very grey looking poop. It was well formed but really grey (light to medium grey), and very pasty looking, as well as appearing to have a light coat of mucus on it.
I have 4 cats in total, so it can be a real challenge to see whose pooping...
What kind of worms did kitty have initially? When one of my newly adopted kitties had worms, the dosage required 2 rounds spaced about 2-3 weeks apart to get rid of the worms in different stages of development.
Did he actually have a temperature when he went for the vet recheck (guessing the...
Yes, it's scary how quickly cats can develop liver issue when they haven't eaten in just a short period.
He still wasn't eating this afternoon, so I called the vet and he has an appt tomorrow. Thanks all for your input.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I am just totally mystified as this is very unlike him, also the mix of these symptoms and lack of others is not anything I've come across yet. I too hope he gets back to his cuddly self and that we can figure out what this is.
I really hope someone can share some advice or help to shed some light.
Last night as I was getting supper for my kitties, I noticed that one of my cats (male 7 yrs old), had been no where to be found. He is normally very cuddly and seeks attention from us frequently.
I found him inside...
There is some really great advice that's already been given on this thread. Just chiming in that though some kitties live long lives on subpar foods (likely due to great genetics), many kitties are not so lucky. Dry food is extremely over-processed and not good for cat health. It will cost...
Please take her to the vet A.S.A.P.
I know she does not like riding in the car and going to the vet, but she may have something that is very treatable that a visit to the vet would take care of. Also, she might be in a lot of pain, again something that you won't know or be able to treat...
The garden variety coronavirus/FECV is common in cats. In a small percentage of cats, FECV can develop into FIP - about 5-10% of cats, according to the Cornell site. This is believed to be caused by mutation of the FECV virus or an abnormal immune response with an individual cat.
Here is...
Hi Willowy,
Thanks so much for your response. Although it would mean another $100+ test, I think it would help to set my mind at ease. FeLV is such a complex disease, I wish it were more clear cut. Most of all, I wish there was a cure for it!
Thanks again for your post, it helped me to...
Hi Samantha,
My heart really goes out to you and Percy. I'm not sure about success rates for interferon and/or PI, but just wanted to refer you to this site. Dr. Addie is one of the world's foremost researchers and clinicians on FIP. She specializes in studying and treating FIP, and has a...
