My cat Twinkie started mowing down her hair in March when she turned 1 year old. It progressed from a tiny spot until 60% of her body was bald. She never broke skin and I tried air purifiers, hydrocortisone, pheromones, changing food, salmon oil, playing more…anything the internet suggested...
Normal playing. If they are quiet and there’s no blood then it’s play. Also, they take turns chasing, pouncing, pinning down and each side comes back for more. Sounds like they are having a blast.
How long have you had the cat? I am an experienced cat owner without anxiety issues and it took over almost two anxiety filled months to get into a normal, stress free rhythm. Incorporating another living thing into your own life with its own needs and personality will initially create anxiety...
Thank you for that last piece of advice…..Twinkie pounced on Jools and had her pinned down…looked vicious but no cries or hisses/growls and neither got “puffy”. I wasn’t sure what that was but now I’m assuming it’s play.

Hello! This is Twinkie…she loves to eat all things chicken and is incredibly well behaved…scratches only on her posts, goes in her litter box, and sleeps all night! I am thankful because I would not have the heart to say NO to her…too cute. We live in Manhattan and she dreams of catching pigeons.
