    Twinkie has struvite crystals

Hi, I am dealing with a fairly new diagnosed struvite problem as well. My male cat was diagnosed about a month ago. My vet thinks that it may have had something to do with the summer heat and dehydration or perhaps the food I was feeding. I was feeding Medi-cal hypoallergenic/gastro. She...

Treats for cats with food allergies?

Another option is to feed another allergy food as a treat. For example: If you fed a duck and potato diet regularly, perhaps feed venison and pea as a treat.

My kitties eye is worrying me

My cat had the same thing. Lowered eyelid and lots of blinking and tearing. His third-eyelid was also very red. It turned out to be a conjuctivitis and I had to put eye cream in his eye for 10 days. It sucked. When you do this, it did help for me to wrap him in a towel and then give him a treat...

    Training to "urp" elsewhere?

My mum's siamese cats throw up all the time. She feeds them cat food with no dye and a light colour so when they do throw up it doesn't leave a stain. This sounds wierd but what she does is use a very thin metal spatula to pick it up. It seems to get it all off the carpet. So instead of picking...

Cat food. Think I blew it big time..

You could slowly mix the good food in to get her back on the stuff you want. You could also try out different good foods to see if any of them strike her fancy. You should slowly mix either the original or stuff in with the food you are feeding now to not upset her digestive tract.

    travelling from Canada to US

I'm driving down to NY with my cats from Canada and spending a month there. From the websites I've looked at I don't really have to do anything before I go. I do have rabies vaccinations etc for both of them to show when I return. Is there something that I'm missing? Has anyone brought their...

Aggression seems to be getting worse, not better

I got my male kitten at 6 weeks and he was terrible with the aggression! I was afraid of him at times! I'm happy to report that he grew out of it and now at a year of age is a wonderful cat. So don't give up and remember that things get better!

he went and found his cheshy!

The reason I decided that my cat couldn't have this toy is that he didn't just walk around with it. He would be hissing and growling and if my other cat got near he would swat at her and scare her. I would have to put him in the bathroom alone and then he would get lonely and calm down. He...

he went and found his cheshy!

I'm going to have to disagree. I say don't let him have it. My cat Guinness has a toy that he looses it with. He walks around growling and attacking me and Nepheline. Its better for all of us if he doesn't have this particular toy! If you do want him to have the toy, see how he acts with it...

    New Kitten (6 weeks old)

I got my male kitten at 6 weeks and he was not litter trained. I confined him the bathroom with his bed and litter box until he was consistently using the box and then I slowly enlarged his area. After I fed him I would put him into the litter box and scratch the litter with his paws and most...

    Toilet Paper

Nepheline will shred the whole roll and spread it all over my apartment if she gets the chance! I have to keep it in a cupboard.

It could also be the weather. My cats are less cuddly when it gets really hot out.

cats afraid after hearing cat fight

My cats heard a cat fight outside last night and have been terrified ever since. They hid under the bed for the rest of the night, and then didn't try and wake me up in the morning for food. I had to coax them to come out and eat. Guinness finally relaxed enough to eat but Nepheline only ate...

Two Kittens, one eating other's food!

I think that you should feed them in separate rooms. If given a chance my boy cat (about 10 months) would eat all of his and my girl cats food. So I feed one of them in the bathroom and the other in the kitchen. They get one dry meal a day and one wet meal a day. If I left dry out all the time...

    Clipping nails, aggression, HELP!

My male is a massive chore to clip his nails. Its only me so I have a lot of trouble at times. I usually wrap him in a towel and basically force him to stay still and bring one arm out. There is a lot of growling and clawing etc. One time I tried getting him super high on catnip, running him...
