Help! My cat is throwing up.

As I'm sure you realize, rats/mice are hotbeds of disease. And an "emaciated" rat is even more concerning because they eat absolutely anything, so if it wasn't eating, it was likely very sick itself. I'd definitely have the vet investigate diseases that could be transferred from rats to cats...

My 10 year old kitty started acting funny tonight. Very concerned. Hissing. Can't sit still.

I'm not familiar with "comfortis tablets", and getting them to take ANY pill is an ordeal. But I'll look into it. Thx.

My 10 year old kitty started acting funny tonight. Very concerned. Hissing. Can't sit still.

Thanks. I make sure to dilute the solution enough so it probably shouldn't burn, and she had calmed down by the end of the comb/wash to where I don't think it was the cause of any pain. But she sure had me worried last night with the twisting & hissing. An added benefit of the peroxide is to...

My 10 year old kitty started acting funny tonight. Very concerned. Hissing. Can't sit still.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Her fever appears to have broken overnight and she is no longer twisting, spitting & hissing. Despite removing so many fleas, she was still biting last night so I combed some flea powder through her fur with her normal brush. I have doing this too often...

My 10 year old kitty started acting funny tonight. Very concerned. Hissing. Can't sit still.

I hope someone can help. After being perfectly fine all day, one of my two cats suddenly started racing around the living room. Couldn't sit still. No idea why. I picked her up and she hissed at me... something she NEVER does. She has been battling a bad case of fleas, so I thought maybe that...

    WARNING! POSSIBLE TAINTED CAT FOOD!

Agreed, "cheapo dry" is better than quality food that never gets eaten. My cats don't like the expensive stuff, but they don't like the really-cheap stuff either. I rotate the food I buy so they don't get tired of eating the same thing every day. I keep a list of their likes & dislikes so I...

    WARNING! POSSIBLE TAINTED CAT FOOD!

Hi.   No, I never did get confirmation on Salmonella, nether from the vet nor from testing the cup the food came in (I didn't have any of the food left to test.) This time around, she did not get sick immediately, progressing slowly over about two days. If the same thing happened two years...

    WARNING! POSSIBLE TAINTED CAT FOOD!

I know I created this thread two years ago, but my kitty just came down with the exact same illness almost exactly two years later, nearly dying from internal hemorrhaging. She came back home yesterday, but I must give her numerous medications daily for the next month. :( I had stopped giving...

    Has anyone used Nomoflea?

I know this is an old post, but can you provide a link to "Flee Flea"? I Googled it and it came up with several different products of the same name. :(

Help! Any recommendations for killing flea EGGS? Stupid things keep coming back.

I washed both cats this morning. Quite an adventure. :) I used the 2-basin kitchen sink, filling both with warm water and poured cupfuls of warm water from one side to the other. It was safe to pour clean soap-free water from the second basin over their heads, which I only did once each. The...

Help! Any recommendations for killing flea EGGS? Stupid things keep coming back.

Frontline has phased out their other products and now only makes "Tritak" (or so I've read online.) Total waste The cats stink and haven't stopped scratching at all. But at least it's expensive as hell. :(

Thanks for the info. I don't remember the specific brand of dandruff shampoo I used all those years ago, but it was bound to be the cheap store brand.

Help! Any recommendations for killing flea EGGS? Stupid things keep coming back.

Thanks for the tip. I'm most worried about getting anything in their eyes that might sting. I considered making "baths" a regular thing when they were kittens but didn't. Maybe if I had, they wouldn't be so hydrophobic today. Even shaking my hands dry near them, a single droplet can send them...

Help! Any recommendations for killing flea EGGS? Stupid things keep coming back.

Thanks for the tip. I had planned on using the kitchen sink as I lack a large-enough bucket. Holding their front paws definitely won't be enough. I will have to get help from someone. :) Thx.

Thanks. It looks like I'm going to have to try giving them an actual bath and shampoo them with dandruff shampoo (cheap, seems to kill the fleas and soothes their scratching). They are NOT going to like it though and probably won't trust me again for days. :)
