I find the trick is to use 3 things they like and alternate. Missy is on pills for her thyroid .. has been a year +. We use sandwich spreads, spreading cheese and pill pockets. No drama so far but she does like her food :) Good luck :)

Our Missy is 16 and has been on Metacam for 8 months. I've quizzed our vet over the side effects as this also can be attributed to kidney disease. In the end we agreed with the vet that at her age pain management was the most important thing. She does have her bloods done on a monthly basis...

We tried defurr-um for constipation. It's a hairball remedy but worked a treat. Our vet recommended it.

My vet has just prescribed my 15 yr old girl with metacam. I'm interested in other views too. I'm worried about side effects of these drugs.

Missy has just turned 15 and recently been prescribed Metacam for arthritis. We were told to give her a 5kg dose once a day for the first week and then dose according to how she is. Has anyone any experience of this? I was thinking of lowering the dose weeks two and three and then maybe trying...

Rescue remedy is amazing. We used Feliway which did the job but not as effectively as rescue remedy. You can spray it on their chest directly too. Comes in plug ins and sprays. Good luck :)
