    Miserable kitty, when/if to rehome?

I warn everyone, this is going to be long, but I really could use some advice. 4 years ago I found my Tara out in the snow. She was a feral and not very friendly at all. I took her in, had her fixed, and we've been getting along pretty well. She is not a friendly cat. She is easily angered and...

    Potent urine smell!

Since I moved from PA to baltimore, MD my cats urine has been getting increasingly potent smelling. I can't tell if its coming from 1 year old Drusilla or 6 year old Tara or both. I added a third box to the apartment figuring that the pee was just building up faster in the current two. I scoop...

    Any hope for fighting kitties?

I introduced my two kitties last August and after months of fighting, they actually because quite good friends around Christmas and stayed that way until March. Tara is 8-10 years old and Drusilla is 11months old. Then in March I did a bad thing. At least according to the kitties who had...

My spayed cat is still having heat cycles, I think

Tara does this from time to time as well. She was spayed several years ago, and once in awhile, she goes into heat. Calling, rubbing, even the back leg dancing. I think it might be because my neighbors all have unspayed cats, and maybe that could "trigger" it, but I'm not certain. The vet said...

Getting cat to come to you

I had a little scare this morning. My apartment window was cracked last week when an idiot seagull flew into it. The maintenance man came this morning with no warning. While he went to his truck to get a replacement pane, I put Drusilla in her carrier because I knew he'd have to take the entire...

    Riding in back of Uhaul?

Update It all worked out fine. The girls were perfectly fine in the back of the pickup and are romping around the new apartment. I know it wasn't the safest thing to do but there was little choice. I don't drive, nor am I eligible to rent any vehicles, and the sparse people I know who can drive...

    Riding in back of Uhaul?

UPDATE Well I managed to work it out that we're taking a friends pickup truck and a pull along trailor. So the kitties will only have to be in the back of a covered pickup and not a Uhaul. Not the best still, but better I think.

    Riding in back of Uhaul?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll ask around again, but I asked everyone before and everyone said no way, they dont even want the cats in carriers in their car and that it is a waste of gas and time to drive seperately. And the ones who would do it don't have cars and most of us are too young for...

    Riding in back of Uhaul?

Its going to be 41 degrees in my starting destination and 47 in my ending destination. I'm going from PA to MD, so its definetly more than a few blocks. 143 miles is what Mapquest says. I've been trying to think of other options but I really can't. I don't drive so I can't come back and get...

    Riding in back of Uhaul?

Has anyone here ever moved with the kitties riding in the back of a Uhaul? Moving day is Sunday and there's no way to fit them in the cab at all since its me and two friends crammed into a space for only two people already. No one to drive them there either so the back of the Uhaul is my only...

    Sturdy cat tree?

I've been looking into cat trees for a long time now. I have a floor to ceiling window in my living room that overlooks a garden and I'd love to get a huge cat tree and plant it there for the girls to climb around on. Drusilla is horrible about knocking stuff over though. She has such powerful...

How do you sleep with your cat in the room?

My girls used to go crazy and chase each other at night. It was getting pretty bad because I cannot clip Tara's claws at all due to her aggression and they like to jump on me. She came very close to injuring my eye with her back claws one night and I had a hard time explaining the scratches from...

    Fat or growing girl?

Is there a way to tell if a kitty is growing too fast, as in getting fat rather than growing normally? Drusilla was 5lbs in December when she was spayed. She's definetly bulked up since then and I'd guess she's closer to 10 now. A lot of my family members keep commenting on how "fat" she is...

Advice On How To Get Strong Nervous Cat In Cat Basket

You could try feeding them in the carrier. Thats how I got my Drusilla to like the carrier. Tara is a whole nother story. She rarely sees the vet because I just cannot get her there. Partially my fault for living in an open layout place where I *cannot* close her into a room and for having...

    hunting list

Before I made her indoor only, Tara used to bring me lots of things. Bugs, birds, rodents. She brought me a baby rabbit once and a fairly large fish as well, but I think she got the fish from someone who had already caught it. She brought me a baby duck too, I was more saddened than impressed...
