Oh I also want to mention that he does also have full access to a drinking fountain and he does use it daily. I know he needs more water, but is it enough to just keep feeding him the same canned food and mixing in more water?
Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I've been on here but I am hoping for some help! I've had my cat Inky for about 3 years now. He's about 5 years old. He has always occasionally urinated out of the cat box on rugs or towels that would be left on the floor. I always assumed it was...
Hi Everyone,
I've read through many of the articles posted on this, but my situation seems a bit different and I'm not sure how to approach it. First off, my cat is healthy and has no issues with UTI- we did check that out first. However, he has been urinating out of his litter box since we...
Thank you everyone for all of the kind words and sympathy. I really appreciate it. The first couple of days were really rough but I have accepted it and just keep telling myself he is no longer suffering. Our poor Giraffe cat was really feeling lonely and wanted constant human attention without...
Thanks for the input everyone! I think I will highly consider it. Since I only have Giraffe now and he's healthy as a horse, I think it's a good time to get it. He did have a leg amputated and I often worry about his future with arthritis and things. Would this sort of thing be "pre existing...
This is something I have been asking myself for a long time!
Having indoor only cats, I took them in for rabies (3 year) and distemper (every year) only. I asked the vet the last time as I had recently researched the topic. He said that for indoor cats, he usually only recommends these two...
We got the results back from the tissue sample that was removed from Plushy during surgery. It turns out Plushy had adenocarcinoma. I guess it's a pretty rare form of cancer that affects older cats. The prognosis is usually poor and cats rarely live over a year with it. Surgery is recommended to...
Thank you all. I opted to bring him home and bury him. I just don't feel right not letting his body return home. The hardest part is bringing myself to go pick him up from the vets. I hate the thought of bringing him home in a box and knowing that he is gone. I feel terrible. I can't help but...
Hi everyone,
Got bad news from the vet this morning. Plushy didn't make it. The surgery was really rough on him and he died early this morning. I am very sad I had hoped we would be finally seeing a solution but I guess we just didn't catch it early enough.
Thanks for all of your support...
Has your vet done an x-ray? I wish this is something we would have done a LONG time ago before it got so bad... The thing is, I would see Plushy eat these things before I could get to him to pull them out of his mouth but like I said, I haven't seen him do it in months so I am guessing that...
Another update:
I just got off the phone with the vet. Yes, Carolina, I feel like the vets there always assume worst case scenario, which I guess is better than getting my hopes up but still... It's not usually very reassuring.
Anyway, he said a lot of technical terms but from what I...
Hi Everyone,
So this latest emergency with Plushy is making me wonder if I should consider pet insurance. I sort of just assumed that insurance wasn't worth it b/c my cats were always healthy... Now that this came up, I am wondering how much I would have saved if I had just had the insurance...
